hlmrx1 - I have a stock srx skid frame, with stock srx shocks. front skid shock is set loose, (soft) with 6-8 threads showing near the eye mount. Limiter straps are sucked down to just about a 1/4 inch of bottoming out the torque arm. If you can't get any srx shocks, I have some. When installing rear skid, loosen up the transfer rod bolts about an inch and a half out. This lets you move pivot points around. (A little hint from my buddy Ryan, pro116.) Front shocks are srx stock also.
Jeff, I had no problems with the changeover to the GP1. No bog, or jetting change, but did notice a color difference on the plugs. I only changed carb springs after, to enhance throttle response. But where I noticed the power, was on mid range and top end. No joking!
Just my input, on my results.

Guys,
I will be working on this issue this week...
Jeff and others, I'll be pulling the carbs and checking to see if the jets are blocked, loose, etc.
I keep you all informed of what I found out...

Mike did you see my post?
J,
Yes I did... It could be any of those things or all of them. I'm starting with the most logical point. Jetting/Carb's...
fyi.
I just tore the carbs apart and did find some 'issues'. I will let you guys know by tomorrow (Wednesday) late PM because I'm headed to the track again....

Hey Mike - What side do we need the dial in plate on? Ours are on the left side, will that be o.k.? Sorry I missed your call yesterday, raced to the dentist, and then to Green Bay, by my buddy with the ski-doo, had some stuff to get squared away. Didn't get back till 10pm CST.
What should I go with, 24/38, 24/40 or does someone have a 37 tooth, and keep the 23?
I guess I should gear for 130mph. I am geared 23/38 now.

Mike What primary spring are you using. What I would do is I would go with the Maxx Purple and use Marks Dial adjust to bring the enguament down to where you want it. I'm assuming your running in the 120 total force range.

Hey guys, isn't 24/38 gears stock for the shorty which is a 1.58 ratio? What does a 23/38, ratio 1.65 do in the 1/4 mile? Higher ratio should give you more acceleration but lower mph, right? I was thinking of trying different gearing (after a bit more tweaking), running stock now on a shorty with reverse, getting mid 11's at 109 to 112mph more around 109 though, which way should I go to improve eta?
You will lose acceleration in the mid range by gearing em down. Been der dun dat!!! Leave gearing stock or go higher on top tooth!

hlmrx1 - I found 23/38 worked the best for me without the bottle. Reved the way it should, and the best 60 foots. But Buster might be right, stay at 24/38 and keep track from breaking loose at the line. Turk is right on when he says it falls off on mid to top end with the 23 top gear, but low end charges like a bear.
J,
I've run that spring with the dial and I think I found somthing that works a little better...

Thanks for the input guys, I may try the 23/38 combo in the future and see what happens.
