thats awesome tyler,
you were .068 quicker out of the gate to the 60ft, and .079 quicker to the 660 mark at only .86mph less speed, but only .010 quicker to the 1/4 mile, and down 4.3 mph. what ever happened, screwed you up after the 1/8 mile, since you were still gaining et to the 1/8 from the 60 ft mark. that run should have been good for at least a 9.536, unless you were running into a extremely strong head wind, i would check your rpms after 1/8 mile. 9.5s are only a matter of time, good luck!!! jeff
![Rockon  ](/styles/default/xenforo/smilies/rockon.gif)
jeff, no head wind, i think it is the 260lbs driver that i need to kick off the sled!! well i can't do that!! i like to drive to much.
jeff i will keep an eye on the rpm, i think the cam is too big in the finish.
talk to you later

Hey Everyone!
6/25/04 - Sunny conditions - track temp. average was 103. Temp 75 - 81 w/ 35% humidity climbing to 52%.
Didn't seem like they sprayed the track at all, traction stunk. But they sprayed before 1st round, them
!!!!!!!!
1st time run - Rocks clutching, no change from last week.
1.533 60 ft. - 6.947 1/8 @ 95.217mph - 11.201 1/4 @ 112.598mph.
2nd time run - no changes
1.523 60 ft. - 6.946 1/8 @ 95.253mph - 11.214 1/4 @ 111.954mph.
1st round - Spring Bracket Championship (dialed 11.20)
1.488 60 ft. - 6.896 1/8 @ 95.148mph - 11.178 1/4 @ 110.623mph.
Result - broke out - Went too fast!
Let off, but not enough. Good thing is that I am still ahead in points, and looking forward to keeping it that way. But you never know.

Finally a nice weekend, we hit about 23c and sunny
. My times went down a little without doing anything. 11.328, but can get consistant lauches so I got blown out in the first heat. Bought back in, first run was a bye (is that how it's spelt?), and got a great launch, then blew it on the launch again. It goes sideways and have to let off to straighten out, amazing how much time you lose when that happens. Anyway, got more time in behind the handlebars (9 passes total), practice makes perfect.
Figured out my antifreeze problem, looks like when it's at the full cold mark (cold) that it wants to blow it out the overflow which was routed behind the head. When I got to the track it was still pushing it out, so I finished my daughter's mini pepsi can (she wasn't to impressed) and we mounted the can and put the overflow hose into it, problem solved!
NOS-PRO, aren't you running your nos any more, I noticed your times are back in the low 11's?
SRXMAGIC, you mention getting the hopping out of your sled, one of the runs I did this weekend I noticed it hopping off the line, (maybe I'm starting to relax and pay more attention to how my sled it talking to me!!) it was one of my best launches, but what causes that, is it the way the suspension is setup. I'm running stock, other than clutching.
Hey, where are all the Manitoba boys with the turbos? Jim M. I thought you were going to try out your turbo on tar???? Someone at the track mentioned that his buddies Jim and Bob M. had put together their own turbo. Anyways, I've been there 3 or 4 times and haven't seen any other sled there yet!

Hey hlmrx1 - I love using the nitrous, but I am not consistant enough when the bottle is used. Currently leading in points, I need all the help I can get. Definetly going to make runs here and there, just to see if 9's are possible without a turbo, and we are close. I just need to get the track from spinning, when the nitrous comes on.
Hey NOSPRO, when you do use nos, do you kick it in half way down the track or almost immediately on take off? Also you had problems with launching to the right or left didn't you? My problem with consistency is in the launch, the sled goes either left or right, and a friend told me to shift my weight to steer it as oppose to letting off the throttle so the skis come down. Do you still have trouble with the launch in that sense?
hlmrx1: If you are pulling to the right or left you have a chassis issue. I'm assumeing you have your limiter straps pulled up. Are they pulled up equally?
Yep my limiter straps are pulled up, but I'll have to check and make sure they are equal, good point. The one thing is though that sometimes it lauches pretty straight, I'll have to make sure I stage straight for a few runs and see if it reacts the same every time. It doesn't seem to be consistant! Thanks for the imput jtssrx, I'll take a close look at the skid frame.
hlmrx1: hammer told me to pull the front shock in the skid completely out then you pull the straps up completely so it's compressed against the stops.
not sure if you've done this or is you want to try it.

I recommend getting a set of SX or SRX rear shocks because they're shorter in travel and will lower the sled to the ground alot easier! The first thing to do is to crank your front shock in the rear skid to max spring pressure.
Then start pulling your limter straps up. The easiest way to make sure they're at the same height on each side is to have the rear skid out of the sled and on a flat surface and measure from the center of the bolt hole down to the ground and make sure it's equal on each side. While you're doing this check at the rails and where the contact the ground on each side. They should contact at the same points and be perfectly matched. You'll be amazed at how "crooked" some skids are.
The next step is to set your rear spring pressure to the softest setting and adjust your FRA up to the softest setting. If you want more transfer adjust with the control rods and limiter straps. You can also get more transfer by making the shock & FRA stiffer when you have good traction. This will also make your sled faster due to the fact that it takes less energy to transfer through the rear skid due to the fact that it can't move as much which in turn will lower your ET's some as well. If you're looking for short travel rear shocks let me know. I have a few extra sets.
I would also recommend straping your rear skid down to 2" of travel that way as you take off the suspension can't "unload" and slow you down. The key is moving the sled forward and not up in any way. The skis should come off the ground an inch or two at the max!

Take your shock out?
Acctually I got that "remove front shock in skid" from a different source.
