Ok I had been talking on here earlier about trying to decide between different models of Apex and I had kinda decided to go with the Apex ER. Then I got to looking on the website and reading guys thoughts on the Warrior and go to thinking about the Attak also. I ride at most twice a year in the mountains. Other than that I'm a very aggressive trail and ditch rider. What I'm wondering is will the longer track bother me when I go to hit the trails hard or start jumping stuff in the ditches? I currently am riding an 03 F7. Also, when will people start to be able to ride these new sleds and give us their thoughts on them?

I have same question. Coming off an 03' RX1. Lots more options (shock packages with the Apex) than with the Attak. It would be interesting to hear what someone whos ridden both the RX1 and Warrior would suggest. D

One thing about your F7 is that it is not a 121" track. It's a narrower 128" I think? I've read reviews on the handling with the longer tracked AC and it definitely took some getting used to.
I've found that going from 121" to 136" has many bennefits, enough to put worry out of my mind. Now for you to go from an F-7 to a Yamaha 4-stroke, I'm sure you will notice a big difference in the handling, but will be pleasantly surprised with the results.

If you are coming from an F7 go with thew 121" for most riders the benefit of the 136" was with the old Pro Action suspension the rear suspension worked better on a 136" skid. Not necessary with the new sled plus the additional weight is 40 lbs. on the Attak. IMHO

The benefit of 136 has NOTHING to do with comfort, its all about TRACTION.

I won't give up my 136, so no $10k attack for me this year.

Thanks guys for the input I appreciate it. LB, I know that I will see greatly improved traction with the Attak. What I'm concerned about is will it handle as well as an Apex. Especially when I'm out in the trails and hitting the ditch.

LB, traction wa better but the main benefit was getting the junk Pro Action to work, I am sure that 90% of those that went to the 136" on their RXI did it for comfort and ride ability not traction.
No the 136 WILL NOT handle trails and DITCHES as well as the 121" FOR THE WEIGHT ALONE PLUS THE PUSH ON THE FRONT END.

Go for the APEX over the ATTAK, neither of them will hold a candle to a Mountain Apex so why sacrifice any handling for two trips out west... you'll be smiling on the trails with the 121 (especially in the ditch lines), IMHO the mono-shock works better in the 121 config than a 136, feels lighter and responds quicker...R

NOBODY did it for comfort... ITS THE SAME SKID. Works the same. No difference except for the SHOCK.

I agree that it still handled like crap but I can't see anybody spending the $2000 required to extend just to improve traction. That makes no sense. If we ran a poll like I said 90% did it to improve ride. The traction problem was the lousy track anyways.

I went to a Warrior for comfort (longer skid bridges the bumbs), traction was an added benefit.
