BBY, What was the name of the lake you fished at? Awsome northerns you two caught. I caught 51 northern Pike in 7 hours at Black Lake in New york a couple weeks ago but the biggest was only 27".

The resort is called Knee Lake resort. We flew out from there to a lake called Bear lake. Fishing couldnt have been better...BBY

I'm jealous. Although the Walleye fishing has been good, gotten a 25, 26.5, 27, 28, 28.5, 28.5, 29, 29.5 this year up in da UP. Haven't tackled a pike like that for a couple of years though. Gonna go Musky fishin next week up on Michigamme.
Looks like you had a blast Matt

We save all them Jack's for you fellow Americans. LOL
Most Canadians go for the Walleye ( guy I work with just caught a 33 incher ) or Sauger around here. But I just love Poor mans Lobster and canned Jack. Mmm Mmm good.
To flay Jack's you have to hold them as if they where swimming. Drop in behind the head down to the spine and follow it to the tail. Then follow the ribs down both sides. Find the Y bones and cut them out. Now you have five flays and no bones. Sounds easy takes lots of practice, I still suck but I'm getting better.
One thing a few people I know do is flay the Jack normally and grind up the flays bones and all. Makes excellent fish patties.
