Well it looks like it is not only the hills that can make a bad trip but road conditions too. This happened to one of our customers this past week. They had a GREAT ride all day...he said they had never had such great riding conditions. Then on their way back to the hotel they hit black Ice on the highway. His new Nytro and 28 foot enclosed trailer are both write offs. The other sleds we are not sure about yet as the adjuster has not come to our shop yet to check them out. So everyone be safe on the roads as well as the mountain.

Crap that sucks! Does that all go on the truck insurance? At least no one got hurt and the toys can be replaced.

The machines that were owned by our customer are covered under his trailer insurance. The others are covered by the insurance on the sled...I think they said it would be under collision not really sure

If the sleds were actually tied down, they probably wouldn't have moved much at all. ![Banghead :o| :o|](/styles/default/xenforo/smilies/banghead.gif)

All sleds were tied down. The tie downs broke and or straightened out the hooks.

Tie Downs work when they are "loaded" in the correct way. If they get stressed in the wrong way or shock loaded they will snap in a heartbeat.
That really sucks and makes me nervous seeing how we leave for WY on Sunday at 5 am. Hope its an uneverntful trip out!
Hope that the get some new sleds soon!

Seen something like that 2 years ago, a 6 place inclosed trailer being pulled by an Excursion. They had I-35 down to 1 lane for a few hours due to scattered Snowmobile parts from one ditch to the other. Same thing, 70mph + Black Ice + Unskilled driver = Massive damage.

I feel yea. I totaled my car and trailer on the way upo to my first race of the season. Did a little damage to the sled as well. The diurng to red lake race completly totaled the sled, and that was not covered. So I ended up going $4,000 over budeget so far and the season still not over. Had to take some loans and stuff just so I can finish the season. Wost of it I go to college, jobless beside drill for thwe army and only get $600 amonth while in school.
