Belly Pan Blown Belt Protector

Was sent my tracking number, and looks to be arriving today already. Very fast ship, thank you sir!

Im excited to see it. I believe this is the nicest piece out there currently. Very well thought out and the price is right!

Wow, that was fast Travis!

Just opened her up, and this is excellent work my friend. Very nice, heavy gauge aluminum and nicely bent corners. Agree a much more profession look than others who are just roll/bending something into place. This looks much more factory like.

Course I had to take some pics....lol. With all these parts, it would be nice to get a sled sometime soon!

I noticed there's only 4 bolts/nuts. The back part that bolts to the brake guard...does that use an existing bolt that's already there?

Noticed that too right away. If I only had my sled I would know if there is a stock bolt there.

If you go back to the OP, it sure looks like a stock bolt in his pic on that brake caliper bolt.

Im sure that is the case, as he is very thorough.

Just called Travis on the phone...wanted to order that protector for mine too. I asked the question about the bolt in my message. When he calls me back I'll be sure to ask it and find out.

I will give you a call back today.

The rear mount does utilize the stock bolt on the caliper.

I added the guard to website earlier this week, but for some reason it was not showing up when filtering by Sidewinder in the store. I fixed it now. Below is direct link to the item in the store.

Easiest way to install is to remove the drive clutch ,bolt to the caliper ,drill holes ,BE careful when drilling the top holes so you don't drill the a arm .Also, seal the plastic pan to the frame with some blk. silicone to keep the snow off the clutch .You''ll see what i mean when you drill the holes /.

Why would you have to do that? You drill the holes and then put the bolts in(plugging the holes)..hows the snow going to come in?? If you didn't install this protector...you're saying the snow would still come in? I'm confused??

Not where you drill ,where the frame doesn't match the bottom plastic pan correct .Comprehend ???

Travis, I went to your site and purchased the guard. Thanks for the link...made it very easy. And thank you for calling me back last evening...sorry we played phone Tag lol.

Well that's going to be a problem whether you install this guard or not...correct?? Which was what I was thinking...a defect/imperfection in the two parts...correct?

Yes its a known feature of the cat chassie....I had that gap on my 12 cat, where the pan meets frame, and we water run alot on all our lakes we have, so anytime I get a new sled I inspect the pan seal underneath, put a light under sled in darkened garage and you can see all the crevices easily. Been doing that since I was about 15, lol. We have so many boathouse with bubblers and rivers/streams that are always hard to pass by.

Always best to do this type of thing when sled is new, and it does not have any crud/belt dust ect all over inside. If its already dirty you want to clean that good. As the silicone wont stick too long.

Great point to bring this up Ken. I know Travis designed this so guys dont need to remove clutch, and you can do it without clutch removal. But it sure is easy with clutch removed. I know I will want to tear into mine alot from get go anyway, so mine will come off.

Shop tells me that the plates were burned out yesterday and should be formed today. Quite a few on the forum have placed orders for these so I just wanted to give you all an update.
