Is there any way you can make a surround guard for these sleds I broke 2 belts and both came out the back and bent my guard and actually split my door panel and these door panels are not cheap.![Banghead :o| :o|](/styles/default/xenforo/smilies/banghead.gif)

I will certainly entertain the idea of adding another piece. I don't want to make one continuous piece, so would likely just have an additional piece you can add.

Threw a new belt on, bent the sharp edges on this hole back that looked like it was hit with a grenade launcher and good to go. Belts blowing can be really dangerous.![]()
OMG! Incoming!!!!

Mine bent between the primary and secondary right on the edge towards the engine. It could be made a little wider towards the engine possibly. There's a sensor on the engine kind of centered between the clutches that I'm surprised doesn't get taken out. I had belt fragments everywhere lol. Great piece though Travis, sure saved me a few hundred dollars.

Here's a pic of mine taking a hit at 125ish.For those that have my belly pan protectors that sustained a hit I'd like some pictures. I've yet to blow a belt on mine and would like to be able to monitor how the guards are holding up to different blows.

Well mine blew doing 120 kms and took my belly pan out. I thought this was supposed to avoid this.

We have seen the same result with these. (Sorry no pics).
I believe we need a protector that starts from the original top and rounds around to the bottom. Or one that replaces the original top and goes full circle. Smooth headed carriage bolts from inside to outside would also help. Pic from a drag sled protecter.
Yes would cost more but should really protect.

Are the holes in plastic where the bolts go through still complete, or do they each have a crack in them now?
Certainly the protector is going to help prevent this from happening, but there are always exceptions. The point of impact on a blown belt is anyone's guess, as its not going to be same on every one. I'm quite surprised that yours tucked up in like that. From what I gathered, most hit the top plate area or go out the bottom. If the mount hole is split where the belt hit, then perhaps it got hung up on the bolt and I could consider relocating it. The nut can't be moved to the outside as it will interfere with upper arm as it cycles in its range.

My concern with the full circle idea is then all the fragments have a greater chance to be contained around the clutches and get entangled in the clutches which could make for a real mess to address on the trail. I guess I feel more comfortable with a design that allows for the debris to evacuate.

With the protector bolted to panel like that there is a good chance it will bust the panel. Seen it happen more than once now.

The one hole split were the plate bent due to the plate was bent forward at least 2” from belt hitting top right. Those pictures rea after I bent back into place on trail. I was 500km from drop off and it was split wide open, I didn’t want snow getting in and hitting clutch’s.Are the holes in plastic where the bolts go through still complete, or do they each have a crack in them now?

Now that I see what can happen I wish I would have one that bolts to the factory belt guardWith the protector bolted to panel like that there is a good chance it will bust the panel. Seen it happen more than once now.
