Belt temp gauge

Are you guys buying the non-dimmable or the dimmable version of the Razorback belt temp gauge? If you are using the non-dimmable, is it overly bright at night? If I install one, it would be just to the left of the gauge pod so it will be pointed right at my face at night so I don't want it to be overly bright at night.
I run non-dimmable and have never found it too bright even at night. My gage is directly on top of cluster.

Good to hear. I may try one of those then if I decide to install the gauge. I have blown 2 belts in the 900 miles that I have ridden the sled so far but there may have been mechanical issues that caused both. The first belt likely blew because my offset was 58.9mm. Got that corrected. The 2nd belt (XS825) belt blew after the 2nd of 2 races against a buddy at around 110mph. Around 20 miles later I found that I had a broken secondary spring. Before the 2nd belt blew, the clutches had been running considerably cooler than they were before I corrected the offset. I don't want this thread to turn into talks about clutching so it I will just leave that there. I have all Thunder Products clutching and have been working with them. I am just working on determining if I really need the gauge or not.

IMO, I'm sure some will disagree, it is a incredibly valuable tool for clutch tuning. The thing to remember is that average belt temp relates to many factors, clutching included, but even with "great" clutching (great for drag racing?, great for high speed long distance running?...those are different set-ups) your heat in belt will change with all the other variables (ie snow conditions, ambient temps, driver weight, track lug, gearing, etc). So it just helps you know what's happening as it's happening. That to me is invaluable! More necessary the father you get from stock (ie, 300 tune vs 240, different helix vs stock, different clutches vs stock, etc).
