Doing a poll to see what percentage of sleds have had a bent subframe requiring repair or replacement to see just how widespread the issue is based on actual data.
Please say YES if you have been required to repair or replace the subframe
Pleas say NO if you have not been required to do any repair even if you have observed minor bending of the subframe, but have not done any repairs due to the minor nature of the issue
I realize there was another poll on the bent sub frame topic but it was geared towards seeing if repairs were covered under warranty

Just a matter of time for those that own an fx nytro. I can't believe the damage a minor low speed hit can do.

You need to tweak your poll. The first year of the FX Nytro is 08. The 06 and 07 are not FX but RS chassis sleds.
The other problem is your poll doesn't allow for guys that have bent a sub-frame after 'hitting' something. For instance, I bent my 08 after stuffing the sled in a ravine at about 30 Mph. I now have a new one after 3 seasons riding the bent one.
The other thing to consider is the fact that TONS of people bend stuff crossing railroad tracks doing less than 10mph, and I'm not talking about just the Nytro or Yamaha's for that matter.

This poll is screwed up. Yesterday there were 2 2011s that were repaired. Now there is one (me).
On a further note. You can bet a good many Nytro owners are riding around with bent subframes and don't even know it. I saw one for sale at a dealership once.

I asked the local yammie tech what he knows about this issue. He says he has heard of it, never seen it. I was very suprised. I am thinking there appears to be more of an issue here than there really is, because likely only people with some sort of issue would even look at the internet, let alone posting. I am hoping I dont tweak mine before I get the Gizz Gadget to strengthen it this summer.

I trully think that many techs/dealers down play issues so they dont have to be the middle man in the battle between customer and Manufacture with not so obvious issues...
But I do agree that many issues brought to the world wide web seem more numerous then they really are. Considering there over a 100,000 new sleds sold in US and Canada each year, 10 guys having an issue with one particular sled, is a very, very small percentage of total units on the snow. But when you find 10 guys having the same issue on a website.......it seems like a major problem.
Example; The first year I had my XTX, I had issues with breaking limiters straps. Seemed to be a major issue since I found several threads on TY discussing the problem. In the end, I found that it was the same few guys discussing it on all the threads.....not 100's of different guys.Im guessing there where well over 1000 XTX's sold that year....which makes 10 sleds having issues a pretty small percentage. BTW fixed mine with ductape!!

I think a good indication of how wide spread the bent frame problem is would be the number of subframes Yamaha has sold since 2008. I don't think Yamaha would ever give that number out but because they revised the frame again for 2013 making it the 4th frame in 6 years I'd have to say there is a problem.
