Well I've decided to keep my 07 Big Bear and get a plow for next year. Ihave a few questions:
1. In your experience what brand of plow is the best?
2. Do you think a 60" plow would be to big for my ATV?
3. Which is better a winch lift or handle lift?
Thanks

I have a Cycle Country plow for my Grizzly and I have no complaints. They come in two sizes and I have the shorter one. I have used my winch in the past but putting on a short cable so you don't ruin the long one is a PIA. The next time I have to use a plow I will get the manual lever that mounts on the racks.
Repeated use of the 50ft cable will ruin it and it will get all balled up on the spool.

Also if you could post where you got your plow from that would be great.

I bought mine at the local Yamaha shop.

I have an 05 grizz 660 with a polaris glacier plow. My dealer has polaris and yamaha both. The dealer talked me into the polaris plow system, glad they did, it is nice. Polaris makes a mount for my grizz. The glacier plow is very nice it is 60" wide and flairs out higher at each side. It comes off with the tug of a little red lever in the front, you do not have to crawl under to put pins in under the machine. To attach it is just drive right in, snaps on, your butt does not even leave the seat exept to attach the cable from the winch. It goes on and off in a minute. I had a plow with the long push tubes before that have to be pinned underneath. The glacier plow systems lifts way higher too, there are no push tubes to get in the way of lifting it up. The down side now is polaris only makes the mount for their polaris for the new models. I have an 07 grizz 700 and polaris does not make the mount for it like they did for the grizz 660.
I have been using my winch for three winters on the plow and not once has the cable kinked or got knotted. I see very little wear on the cable, and I am not sure if it is not from normal use.
my 2 cents

I have a cycle-country 60" plow on my Kodiak 400 and it works great. It is 7 years old and no problem with it. I use a winch to lift it and the cable gets fraid and will break at times. Baught the plow new with my Kodiak at the dealer. Warn makes a synthedic rope for their winch. Don't know how it holds up.

I've got a 60" Moose County plow on my 700 and 660. Great quality plow. I use the winch too. The 660 has a special roller fairlead where the bottom roller is about 3X larger than the rest. It doesn't bend the cable as sharply around the roller. Seems to be easier on the cable. No issues with the cable unspooling, but I pull out 5-10' of cable and respool it after every use. Only takes a minute.
