What are you guys using to repack 4 stroke exhausts? I have an excell exhaust on my 08 Phazer MTX and its loud. I bought it used and the previous owner said it could use a repack. I talked to excell and they recommended MSR material. I think they mentioned the spaghetti type. I'd like to quiet the exhuast down a bit but I dont want to lose performace.
thanks
thanks
I like the spaghetti style also.Moose also has it.Lasts longest for me an nice deep tone.
Anyone else have any recommendations?
How much would I need to repack an excel? Im guessing one pack would be enough.
Any tips on install. I heard that you pack it loose.
thanks

Silent Sport Premium packing is by far the best quality packing if you want it to last.
Thanks I never heard of it and just read up on it. Sounds like its good stuff. Do you know any place online in North America I can get it from? Most places were in Germany, Australia, England...
thanks

Contact Hindle and buy their packing...it's already in a bag that you just slide over the core. You can also put steel wool around the core before you put the packing on.
Once you have it repacked, break it in properly by starting the sled and letting it idle to operating temp ( 10-15 min ). then let it cool down completely. No cracking on it during this time. That way the packing can warm up and setttle...or pack up...then your good to go!

Hindle packing doesn't last nearly as long and I am not about post picks of what it looks like when I removed mine from XR 1200 can. The break in period is critical on newly repacked exhaust.
