star suspension full upgrade + revalving
oft relocator I am 6' 2''
roest skid plate
roest i.p vent kit
I notice that the sled tend to dig its grave just like my phaser did when it was stock and that realy sucks. I have the stock yamaha skis, should I do just like I did to the phazer and install ski skinz to enlarge them; on the phazer it did not change the handling on the trail but floatation was better. or should I go with yamaha Mt-9 skis, my dealer told me that in trail they were not very good when cornering or aftermarket skis? Could that floatation issue be solve just by adding shims under the rubber of the skis?

Find a better wider ski, not the MT9s though, haven't heard good things about them. There are a lot better skis out there, just try a search.
A larger lugged track will help too, that Ripsaw will just trench in the deep snow. Again, search for popular tracks for powder.

Yamaha mountain skis (older ones) and a 1.5 crossover worked for me.

Skins floatplate and a 136" ext with a 2" challenger made a huge difference with mine. Only thing is I Cannot pull a wheelie on flat anymore
, but powder wise the challenger is a great track. Lugs are a bit to soft tho.

Start where all of us did... Rip those OEM skis off and throw on some aftermarkets!

i have the mt-9 skis and there pretty good on the trail and give lots of floatation but im sure the other skis would be better then those. it comes down to sled set up. if your riding trail that day and are an aggressive rider change your set up for more ski pressure if your wanting to play in some fresh snow change it for that it only takes 20-30 min max to adjust and you can play with it and learn alittle goes a long way. just my 2 crappy cents

Both your ski's and track are working against you on floatation. new ski's will help off trail but you will still be digging a hole to middle earth and not getting anywere fast with the ripsaw track. shimming the ski's will only help with darting problems and trail manners.
I would stay away from the mt-9 ski's, imo they are the worst ski ever made, alright floatation but carving was unpredictable. carrying any speed on hardpack the skis looked like they were going to wobble off, and forget about turning while at speed... I had them on for one 100+ mile trip and after the first 30 miles or so I couldnt wait to get back to town to take them off... one of those skis are now on my wall of shame in my shop with other useless parts, the other is at the dump... I used ski-doo pilot 6.9's last year and they worked great. good floatation, alot of carbide options and good trail manners. wish I hadn't sold them until my new skis actually showed up because using the stock yamaha trail skis are reminding me everytime I go riding of why I replaced them the year before.

curves skis work good for me. good float and hold the trail very good. how ever i'd shy away from the leading edge it makes steering effort to much IMO for that sled

Clutching it will cause it to trench less on startup too. but skis will help as well. Also as you're a tall rider, if you like to stand at all you may want to look into a lake effect xtx pivot riser too on top of the OFT. I'm 6'5" and it's nice and high for both standing and sitting.
