Well, did the adjustments to 10.3" (the max) on the OEM and still bottoming out from time to time, so I think its time for the heavier spring.

Figure 235-240 lbs. whats the spring I need? What will be the adjusments?

Where can I find it ?

Thanks.

how much sag do you have on your spring when you sit on the machine? You will bottom out from time to time.. You need to have your thumb ready to pump up the compression as the terrain gets rough.. Just set your mode to shock mode.. then you can adjust it as you drive along.

I have bottomed out even at the hardest compression. I have read that anything over 210 lbs, you need the heavier spring. I also read that you cannot pre-load more than 10.3" which is what I have done.

Revalve the shock is mandatory,i did mine plus a dual spring kit plus reservoir hi-lo and my BACK! have no regret.

here some pics!

I don't even know what half he stuff you said means :(

What would be the difference between the 6.5 or the 7.1 in terms of, why not put the heaviest? OR should I put what I need? (so far either the 5.5 or 6.5)
Also need to know that once shock is changed, does the 10.3" preload and 40-45mm sag apply the same?

ok, I had decided to get the 6.5, only to find out that my dealer on has a 7.1 and it would too long to get the 6.5.

I need to know what the differnce would be if I were to put a 7.1 instead of 6.5.

What will I see as difference or problem ????

Please Help.

I have the 6.5 on my RTX and set it in the second C-Clip position and the cam at zero or one. The set in in about 40mm or 1.5" the min. With all my bear my weight is about 265-270. I only bottom on the holes that I would expect to. Also FYI the compression on my shock was revalved and I run the rebound near high speed or "soft". If my memory serves me the no load length was around 12.0". Initially I put the C-clip in the third position and whooh, talk about sitting up there. It felt like the sled was going to tip over at any time.

Don't know if this helps but thought I would give it a try.

I read that the preload should be 10.3" regardless of the spring size and that the sag should be 40-45mm regardless of the spring.

The sag should be 40-45 mm regardless of the spring.
40-45 mm of sag will make sure that 2/3 of the shock absorber stroke is available for compression movements and also that 1/3 of the shock absorber stroke is availble for rebound (extension) movements.
Different stiffness springs will require different amount of preload to reach the 40-45 mm of sag.
A softer spring will require more preload, a stiffer spring will require less preload.
