Just blew my first belt (stock 8DN) @ 2,100 miles - was pulling cords out of the secondary sheaves for a good 20-30 minutes. They were jammed in there so good that it kept the sheaves over half way open.
Anyway - thought that many miles for the type of riding we do was pretty darn impressive.
Wondering if perhaps the Ultimax belts would leave less of a mess after they grenade??
Any thoughts on this?

3300 kms on stock belt. Checked width with a pair of callipers and still like new. Not too much hard riding so I guess it will last longer then a hard ran, heated up belt.
The 8dn's have lasted the longest for me. I change mine about 1500 miles, a lot easier than being stuck on a hillside pulling cords out. If you shop around you can buy the Yam belts for $45.00 all day long. Heat seems the demise of all the belt manufactures so venting increases the life.

In Canada a Yamaha belt is $92.00
I blew my second Dayco HPX. It lasted for 3 days, 400 miles. Yes they have a warranty. They want $15 for mailing, it cost me $8.00 to mail it there. So I will have 2 brand new Dayco HPX belts, which were crap to start with, and will be crap again. Maybe they'll be good enough for an Enticer?

Figure out what it would cost to mail a belt to Canada, post it here, and maybe it can be a little sideline for you.
