Do you have a good dealer who knows about problems,do you mind stating which dealer you have?I wanted to start a new thread on this. I am hoping to hear fixes for stock HP sleds. What have you done what clutch kits did you add and got rid of your blown belt issues.
500 Miles - Blew 2 belts both at higher speeds on groomed trails when I hit the throttle to accelerate again after slowing down from 100 MPH or up belt disintegrated, blew in half.
Dealer checked the offset, set spring to 6-2, replaced the flat spotted Yami rollers with Cat ones
1350 Miles - Dealer cleaned clutches set spring to 6-1
1444 Miles - Blew belt at about 30Mph on groomed trail hit straight away nailed the throttle belt disintegrated, blew in half
1475 Miles - Dealer set secondary back to 6-2 double checked rollers and offset gave instructions about warming belt up before each ride slowly like breaking in a new belt but not as long. I normally do this but it was because I like to let the engine warm up completely.

Hey what are friends for right! LolWhat should a person change with the clutching if they weigh 300 lbs. I have a ltx le with a TP orange tuff guy secondary spring set to 3-3 and glide washers in the primary. I blew a belt the other day running fast loose trails, belt blew from heat. My apex blew a few too on long wot runs. I like to hold them to the bar and see if I can get one of my 2 stroke buddies to blow up.

I loved running 8dN least season on Toms, 55 bucks hard to beat basically half price to the ultimax.Stain I had the 2014 Viper and that 8jp was a POS IMO. Belt dust everywhere. I am seeing the same thing. Than Yamaha Tim stumbled onto the 8dn. What a great marriage. Minimal dust and last along time. Way cheaper also. I am already experimenting with the 8dn.
Hard belt,little dust....8jp is a dust-monster I wont ever run a 8jp again.
Problem is, the 8DN is longer, so you need to adjust/shim so it sits above secondary, same as a DOO belt rides in secondary.....and so you lose top speed...maybe 3 to 5mph in some cases.
So far I like this Ultimax Im running.....But will see.
I do a ton of trail miles, and so a few MPH top speed is not a big deal when im not radar running....So 8DN is a very smart solution for trail miles, and quite a money saver.

My dealer is very good and they have been good about working on it. Woody's is my dealer and I really like them. It is a difficult thing since I thought we had it then I blew another one this year.Do you have a good dealer who knows about problems,do you mind stating which dealer you have?

I've posted my setup many times. Don't want to repeat the same post. But here goes.
Changes I made-
I've switched to the ultimax xs 825 belt along with dalton primary and secondary springs with a 33/35 helix.
Dealer-
Replaced the inner half of the secondary along with the stationary half of the primary.

Thanks Joe, Did you notice any gains or losses with the new setup? Any difference in how it drives etc. I am trying not to lose any performance or I would have kept my modded Apex.

anybody getting warranty on thier belts? I know the belts are a wear item but there has to be other issues that are causing the belts to blow? are the guys that got new secondary bushings having the problem fixed?
New secondary bushings did nothing for me. Just tested it out today finally as I was busy last week. Secondary doesn't close all the way. It has a rough spot you can feel. I sent a video to my dealer and they are sending it to yamaha. Hopefully I get an answer soon cuz it sucks worrying about blowing belts. I have 600kms on this belt, but I've altered my driving style not to blow belts.

Is that the stock Helix? And Stock Secondary spring? If it is...I'd get rid of that immediately. Put in a TP Orange Secondary spring, or Dalton Black/orange Secondary spring, and a Dalton Helix...with some Heavy Duty Rollers and that may help your problem? Cuz that's a time bomb for belt blowing right there in that video.

Looks normal to me, I don't think the secondary can push the belt out unless it's turning.
