I just sold my Ski-Doo after being on them my entire life. I purchased a used 06 Attak 144 with 4500 miles on it. It has the anti ratchet drivers, new y pipes and donuts, Rox adjustable riser, 4th wheel kit, big boy spring and some other things. I am going to the U.P. next Wednesday for 5 days and have yet to ride the sled. What can I look forward to and what should I look out for. Thanks in advance, Don

Watch out for the neck-snapping the first time you put your thumb in it and don't be standing up when you let off or you just might go over the windshield. And get ready to enjoy. If handwarmers aren't toasty then get the YAMAHAHEATER.

David :yam:

The neck snap happened in the field next to the house. I forgot to mention it has the updated handwarmres on it and new Powder Pros. The front shocks were done by a guy on here, Pioneer Powersports.

Just take your time and learn from it. The yamahas don't ride like the ski-doos do it takes some work to trun. But I think you will love it and the sound of the motor is killer. Have fun.

Learn to LOVE it.

Buy that I mean, some people feel the compression breaking when releasing the throttle and get all upset at the weight shift on to the ski's and say it is unpredictable handling. NO it just does NOT will NOT COAST like a 2 stroke.
So I learned to love the compressing breaking by realizing if I dump the throttle it is like applying break at speed, so feather out of the throttle. Getting on the throttle will be a pleasure at any speed. WOW makes me smile just sitting here.

I think I will go ride.
;)!

Yamadoo

They are more refined than your past ski-doo doos.when ever your starting the sled up for the first time in the day or if its been sitting for hours let it warm up before you shut it down, approx 5 to 10min. like pulling out/in of a trailer/garage or you will moisture/fuel foul the plugs.great gas mileage for the hp,its a crotchrocket for snow..enjoy!

What you can look forward to is near turnkey fun! This is an extremely fun machine to ride. I agree with the engine breaking, but once you are used to it has its advantages. Good Luck and enjoy. Big storm coming for the Northeast, looks like great riding just ahead! :jump:

Big storm? When? Tell us more...what have you heard?

My Dad and brother both had 07 Phazers and I had a blast riding those. I don't care what any of the doubters had to say about those sleds, an absolute riot to ride. As far as the Attak goes, I'll just come into a corner and chop the throttle and let the engine braking do the job of the brakes. I will admit, I'm going to miss the smell of the 2 stroke, but I have been wanting a stroker ever since they came out. ;)!

All you have dois get in behide a 2 stroke and get that good old smell. Some times is let my buddy past me just to smell the 2 stroke.

I found I like the smell of 4 stroke just as well.... Its not as choking as the 2 stroke and smells like a motorcycle. I like it....

spend some time reading on this site.. You'll love your new sled...

I have the same sled and rode it yesterday for the first time. Man that POWER, neck snapping, arm stretching POWER. I like the engine braking system. I still have to get completly use to it. The powerband is amazing and soooooo smooth. My only complaint would be the handwarmers only. Yamaheaters will cure this issue next weekend.

Read on there is great info in this site.
