I started the Phazer and let it warm up. The high beam indicator was lit and would not turn off. I tested the switch at the connector using a continuing tester by the clutch and it tested OK. I checked the headlights fuse and its OK. I disconnected the battery hoping it would reset but no change.

I took off the headlights and nothing seemed out of order. What else should I be looking for? Is there a relay for the brights?

I ran the Phazer a few weeks ago and the high beam indicator was not on.

I had trouble starting it today but I put it on the battery charger and it started right up.

I'd say it's the relay stuck to high but to be sure, pull the relay and see if the signal supplied to it changes with the switch.

Thanks Mooseman. That will be my plan this weekend. I wished the relays were labeled. Wouldn't you know it - its plus 1 today and then by the weekend it will be mid - 20 C. It will be cold working in the garage!

Turns out it wasn't the relay after all. There were 2 broken wires in the headlight harness on the right side.

When I had the headlight out the high beams went out - when I re-attached the headlights the high beams went on.

I cut and resoldered all three wires on the right side (and lengthened them). Hardest part was taking off the 10 year old electrical tape to get to the wires. And of course it was -25 outside but the garage was a little warmer.
