broke suspension, help.

After seeing where the problem was(in pictures and so on in this topic and others) I grabbed my led-light and went to take a look.
Guess what, the crap was broken in a weld, where the front shock is mounted, just closer to the axcle. Will add some pictures later.

Is this covered by yamaha since it's an known problem?

does anyone have the part number for this updated kit. I just broke mine this last weekend. I rewelded it and braced it but thats just to get me threw the rest of the year. called my yamaha dealership and they had no clue what I was talking about. Thanks

the continue to strengthen the front arm every year, I know the P/N changed EVERY year from 2007 to 2010. I haven't looked to see if the 2011's have a different P/N than 2010. The 08' was slightly stronger, the 09' arm looks beefed up quite a bit, the 2010 arm is a even more beefed up. If you bust a front skid arm find a used 09' or newer or buy an new 11' Arm. I think 08'+ have the billet aluminum pivot.

the pivot arm part number will have -03 at the end not 00 cuz 03 stands for third generation. This arm started on the 2010 Phazers and is also on the 2011 phazers.

Mine broke this weekend. What is the name of the part? This was a notorious problem on the 07 and 08 models. Mine is the steel, not the aluminum. Does anyone know if this is covered under YES?
Yours is only a '07 problem you will need the updated parts to go billet. Most likely too late on the warranty.

Why do you say that? I still have a year or 2 on my YES program. I know its not a recall, but a tech. bulletin. Limited time only?

Ya alot of guys on here are sayin there dealer has let them know that there was a time limit on '07 issues, if you think you got coverage on this part get it checked out

I will find out tomorrow. Thanks. One would think that Yamaha would send something out warning owners that it would be covered for a limited time. I havn't done any mods to it because of the YES
