After 33 years in the snowmobile after-market I'm calling it quits. I've enjoyed my many years in this industry starting out at Bender Racing in 1982 until now at Pioneer Performance. 20 years of racing, traveling the country with Tim Bender and the guys at Bender Racing, meeting and getting to know many people at Yamaha U.S., and designing and developing many products for Yamaha snowmobiles are just a few things that have highlighted the last 33 years. Throughout those years I've had so many loyal customers that have made it possible for me to continue doing what I enjoy. I'd like to everyone that's stuck by me all of these years for all of their support.

Thank you,

Bruce Schrader

I left them a message this morning to inquire if someone else would continue the business, or if there was a planned date, or if this was immediate. I was planning on sending my shocks to be revalved next week and want to make sure someone there was still able to work on them.

What a great resource to the Yamaha community--he will be missed!

Bruce you have been great for the sport and especially yamaha ! Enjoy the the next journey of your life! My back will miss ya!

I agree will all of you!!

Bruce got me a couple of rear shock springs and revalved both my wife's and my rear shocks and what a positive difference!! The sleds go over bumps so much better now!!

Also bought hyfax savers, low snow wheel kits and 4th wheel kits from him. Very satisfied!!!

I hope he passes on his knowledge to a successor as I would hate to think we were some of the last to benefit from his expertise.....

Wish you the best Bruce and thanks for all your help on our sleds!!!

Steve

Very surprised but best of luck.

I know Pioneer Motorsports is expanding and Bruce ran his business (Pioneer Performance) within their facility. They recently broke ground for a large addition and with the changes Bruce may have decided it was time to move on. Hopefully the dealership bought him out so they continue some of his work but even if that's the case I'm not sure if it'll ever be the same without him. Several times I've had shock issues and stopped at Pioneer for Bruce's help. The guy was always there and usually took care of me the same day. He'll be greatly missed, especially by the Western NY snowmobile community. Safe Trails Bruce.

I spoke to the guys at the shop, and it looks like Bruce took his revalving specs with him when he closed shop. They are still able to do rebuilds/recharges, but we will have to look elsewhere for revalving.

I see the his web site has many things on sale and some at 1/2 price

Been thinking of putting sway bar in my two sleds ( 08 , 13 ) , is it a big job ? I checked the apex question area and the sway bar thread didn't work , also do they make that big of a difference ?

Doc. Fairly easy job. I think you will notice a big difference in your 08, because I think it came will a 11 mm sway bar. Will make a smaller difference on the 13 as I believe that came with a 12 mm sway bar, but it will keep the front end flatter.

Bruce went through my Apex shocks a few years ago, and it's definitely a huge improvement, but with him hanging it up, is there anyone else re-valving shocks out there?
It's a common referral it seems to anyone struggling with handling issues. Hope there's somebody out there who can do as good of a job?

I had looked at Shock Tec in Canada but shipping was prohibitive from the US, and the owner Frank recommended I use Carver. Mine are being sent to Carver as we speak. Hygear also does revalves, but the costs were a bit more than I wanted to spend. I'm sure they do great work--was a budget decision for me.
