I am working on installing a track USA 136" tunnel extension and have a couple questions for the guys who have done one. Do you need to use a pneumatic rivet gun to install new rivets ? Do you have to mount the rear bumper to the extension piece of metal or will the bumper fit in the original holes. The metal on the tunnel extension does not look like it is thick enough to support the bumper.

I use a Air over Hydraulic Riveter and the Yamaha double crimp rivets. Its strong enough once it all riveted together....

Idk about the double crimp rivets, never used them but sound good. x2 on the air rivet gun and strength. Mine has been holding up great with no issues except the brake light gets covered with snow!

So did you guys drill holes in the extension and just bolt the bumper onto the extension ?

I don't know about tracks USA, but the Hartman tunnel extensions use reinforcement strips and you drill thru the new extension and reinforcements and bolt the bumper on (bolts go thru bumper, tunnel exextension, reinforcement then nut). The reinforcements are also riveted to the original tunnel section.

I use a pneumatic rivet gun for the mutigrip rivets. I have installed them by hand but I wouldn't want to do to many of them. I thought the Tracks USA extension came with regular rivets, not mutigrip. I prefer mutigrip so that's what I used. The bumper has to be moved back and some move the light back also. I reinstalled the bumper and moved the side reflectors so they covered the old holes. The extension didn't come with any bumper reinforcement but I lift the rear using a chain fall connected to the bumper and have no problems.

Thanks guys. I will be doing the extension tomorrow. This is my last step in doing the extension kit. Every thing has gone pretty smooth so far thanks to the guys on this site. :rocks:
