Buy a new YAMAHA ?

Does the ltx have the same issues with the heavy steering like the rtx?Is the suspension better than the ck on the rtx? Has anyone rode the doo 1200 or the 800 blizzard. The doo dealer has a 07 rtx with 112 miles on it that a guy traded in on a 800 etec also a new 07 800 blizzad .I am going to see if he will let me demo 3 of the doos that he has (blizzard 800,mxzx etec800,1200 )

i'm pretty sure doo dosen't have a 800 etec only a 600.

Yamaha suspensions are getting better but just not quite 'There' yet. As for the turbo, I doubt we will ever see one on a stock sled from yamaha, maybe the HO version of the 1000 and who knows, they might bore it out to 1200cc's to spank the bombardiers.......

personally i would purchase i decent used sled.& see what yamaha comes out with next year.& if nothing that catchs your eye.you can start looking at the other brands as well.spring order is always a nice option.

Bet Doo has the supercharger on the 1200 next year too. I'm watching very closely the reports on Doo Talk on the 1200 and HCS on the Z1 turbo. good and bad points on both. Wish I could manufacture a sled that had the best of all of them.

Don't bank on it, from what I hear, they only made that to compete with the Nytro and a performance 4 stroke in the market. From what I hear, they are not straying from the 2 stroke E-tec program...

Also, a SC just burns way to much fuel, because it' on all the time. Maybe a turbo, but I can't see it. Since DOO does not have any tech out there in that form. Rotax did not design that motor. It was designed and built by Perelli (spelling)...

Until Yamaha steps up to the plate, I say get the 1200 Doo.

If Yammy doesn't react for next season, this is gonna become a lonely place, because there will be MANY of us over on DooTalk with our 1200R's!![/quot

I agree, I will be keeping a close eye on the 1200 Ski Doo this season

I have not seen anything on DTR's website that makes that sled so significant. I have not seen anyone do anything to the motor that makes it come alive in a N/A forum. Sure Turbo or SC are developed, but Yamis has that covered in aftermarket form. I have seen some exhaust tested with not any more gain than what they have for a Nytro or Attack... We'll see... I for one do not want to go back to DOO's brutal Customer Service. There warranty sucks and they are just dicks to deal with...

That option has crossed my mind because ther is not a sled that I really want to buy now that looks like it is the ticket to have for a few years.I guess I am getting interested in the ltx gt but I was hoping that yamaha would step up next year with a new APEX.The doos I dont know if I want to go back to a 2 stroke and there new 4 does not seem to be anything special. Plus I love the YES ,the motor, exhaust, fit to finish would hard to leave but the crapy suspension and heavy steering are the only things I would love to leave. Also this site would be hard to leave because everyone on here has been so great as this is the best snowmobile forum I have seen.

Buy a good used Yamaha (or a leftover) and put the money you saved into a shock revalve, Bergstrom's and a heavier sway bar. Night and day difference on mine!
It doesn't matter what sled you buy, you'll always find the negatives and focus on that. I'll personall take the reliability of Yamaha, and tailor the sled to my riding habits. Everybody rides differently, and no one sled is perfect for everybody.

I would just go buy the traded in 07 RTX that had 125 miles on it that you mentioned and run that, if you can get a good deal on it, until we see the 2010 lineup..

Also, if you do get the RTX, then just get the shocks re-valved from Carver.... Ohlins recommends then for re-valving...

2010

i don,t have any real details but from what i have been told they are really working on handling for next year,s sled. it is also going to have a little more power. i have an apex gt and a nytro xtx. the nytro is a nice sled but i still love the motor and power of the apex. i hope they keep the four cylinder based on the new r1 motor. go to the yamaha website and read up on that motor. some of the technology is amazing. but if there are going after handling i don,t know if they can lighten it up enough. maybe they use the watercraft super charger engine?

2010's release/Feb or March.

There are many guys I know that are interested in the overall performance of the 4-stroke Doos this season and it seems it will not take much for quite a few to jump ship from an Apex or Fx Nytro to a 4-stroke Doo.
Its not the Yamaha motors its the rest
of the "issues",handwarmers,skis etc....

Getting the shocks revalved is the easy part on the later RTX sleds. Talk to the guy doing them about controlling the ratcheting, see what he says about that. Hygear's most elaborate big buck suspension mods don't even address it......but it will ride great! To fix that suspension problem, you need to be talking extroverts - and very likely another track.

Dumping the kind of money we're talking about now, to address both issues, is gettin kind of silly for most people.....
