I purchased a bv2s at the beginning of the season. I was just about to proclaim it the best helmet I have ever owned until the other night. Riding condtions were very cold -5F. About 15 minutes into the ride the shield started fogging pretty good. It wasn't so bad that I could not see, but was annoying to say the least. My son was wearing my old snowforce modular and it was completley clear. My old helmet was looking good at this point. This is the first time this has happened. I've rode very cold weather the past few weeks with no problems. Previous coldest ride was zero. I was wearing a very thin nylon balacalava the night it fogged. Thinking this might be the issue, not a good enough seal. The next night I wore my bv2s balacalava with no problems, but not as cold 5F. Still a great helmet, any bv2s users have any ideas to the fogging issue that cold night?

Yesterday, I also had the first case of fogging with my BV2S. Conditions were cold (I think low single digits and windy), but I'm putting the blame on deep snow and a lot of powder getting in my face. I changed the pad, at least 3 times and the probem finally went away after we stopped for lunch and I took the whole front breather apart and dried it out, and completely cleaned off the shield. The biggest problem with this helmet is that breather. I can be out for a 1/2 hour and when I stop there will be a couple of little icicles hanging down that I have to knock off to make sure all is clear. I still think this is the best helmet going though!

I have had similar problems in really cold weather, the problem is the breather freezes up when you stop and dont have your face in it... I would make sure it was free when I headed on the trail and havent had a problem since.

I have an 18 1/2 neck and cannot connect the neck strp no matter what I do plus getting this thing on and off is a real pain, otherwise a great helmet.

I tried using a synthetic chamois type thing, "Absorber" brand name.
They do work great for picking up water, but no good for putting in your mask. As soon as it gets damp, it goes completely limp and flops onto your face.
If you're going to try it, use a fiber-type chamois.

On the inside of the breathing piece, there are 2 small grey flaps. Sometimes one of them will get hung up or folded over, if that happens fresh air will be allowed to enter into the helmet area.

This has happened to me a couple of times and that is the only time my helmet has fogged.

Make sure mask stays tight to your face. No air can get in, if it is sealed around your face. If you breath out real hard, fast, you can force air out around edge of mask. Once you fog it, your toast.
I also don't use the paper or any cloth in mask.
Ride mostly in northern Canada and no problem down to -42c.
FYI at -40c and -40f exact same temp. Merge at -40

Jim what I did is , where the latch is on the left side, cut the stitches to allow the strap to be free from the leather piece .
This gives you a little more room.
