The base number is the octane required to run it in stock form. Whatever the user manual says.
If you want to mix pump with race always use the highest octane pump fuel you can get hold of.
At altitude you will need less octane because of the atmospheric pressure beeing lower reducing the compression pressure. The air will also hold less oxygene thus the need for running a leaner mix at altitude. If you're safe at sealevel 0 ft elevation, your will only get safer the highet the altitude.

For those searching this for the first time, this is one of the most helpful tools when planning a boosted build AND how much octane you need. I have found it extremely accurate over the years playing with boost.
