Guess I had a few rocks caught inside my track and it looks like it damaged the lower spring plate on the shock. This piece just slides out when the preload is released from the shock...But can I just buy the plate? I don't need the whole shock. Anyone have one laying around???
Here are some pics...
Thanks.

Get hold of Pioneer Performance or Maxximum Performance. They both rebuild Yammi shocks and stock each part individually. I buggered up an adjuster jam nut 2 seasons ago, they (Maxx Perf.)sold me a used one for like $5.00 shipped to my door.
Bend her back, look for cracks if not roll!

Mike these machines are meant for snow ..............not rockcrawling.

The constant abrasion wear does appear to be stud damage. Since the track is between the ground and the shock I don't think a rock could cause that damage unless the rock knocked a hole through the track.

I agree with NY_Warrior.....That doesn't look like a rock. Something (like studs) seems to have been rubbing for some time to do that kind of damage.....

I appreciate it, but this is the last year I will keep this sled. Next year I'll be stepping up to something newer.
Did you find this part? I am looking for one also. Could you let me know where you found one if you did. Thanks!

I found a shock spring retainer in the Dennis Kirk catalog but it is for all fox shocks so don't know if this will help. It is on page 175 and is part no. 10-5822. Hope this will help you out.

Retainer
I had the same thing happen. Took the shock assembly to a dealer who specialized in shock repair. They found a retainer that was close in size to the stock, that worked fine. I was unable to buy the exact retainer since Yamaha sells the entire assembly for around $300.

Did you guys find one yet? if not I replaced my noaction with a bender skid and have the junk pile of the original suspension in my garage. The only thing of value are the 2 shocks complete with no damage. I have no use for them and will get them to you if you pay the shipping. PM me if you like.
