Can the sled be started and ran without the headlight/gauge pod-such as to fog the engine for summer storage or sync the throttle bodies?

Sure can, when I totalled my RTX middle of December flipped it back onto what was left of the front end, pryed the kill switch stub up and it fired right up and drove out. The headlight pod was a good 40' from the sled at the time. It was a bit chillier ride back to town but since both lower A-arms were pulled out of the tunnel and the ski alignment looked like 3 yr. old on the kiddie hill snowplowing the speeds were kept low. No windshield and no facemask left in helmet my eyes were frozen when we got to Hurley.

Oh yeah you bet. I just finished the RX-1 and am leaving at noon on Friday for the Yooper to test it out. Its been 4 weeks and Ive been going crazy.
