What are you guys with curve skis using for carbide i just have the carbides that came with them when i bought them used. Just a 4 in round bar. Just wondering what people use and do they have the same bolt pattern as C+A carbides??? Maybee the curve guys will chime in and help me out...

I'll be installing Bergstrom Triplepoints with his suggestion for length. This IS on an 11 Apex XTV (V for Venture skid) 144x1.5 track, so I would expect it'll be 8".

They are same as C,A pattern.Did you ride it with the 4" ? I usually run 6" on everything. If you want alittle more corner bite go with 6" shaper bars.Any questions let me know.Rich

I've used just the accord magnum 6" round bar for two years. I used to use bergstrom triple points on my c& ski's before. I wanted to use the triple points on the curve ski's but the weld that holds the threaded stud to the runner is much to big for the hole. You would have to drill a counter sink from the bottom side to suck them up in. It looks definitely possible, I just never did it.

6" Studboy Shaper Bars and Curve's leading edge option.

I ran 7.5 and 9 shapers. But I like a bit more bite and was ok with the slight increase in steering effort. I know they have a few options depending on your style, tolarence for steering, and other setup info.

Keep in mind the skid adjustments do effect ski response and effort as well, you'll need to toy around with it a bit to find what you're looking for regardless of skagg choice. You have what I consider an excellent ski for that sled, with the proper setup the skis will perform very well across various conditions, just don't think your going to put them on and everything is perfect. There are lots of set up advice posts and they provide a good starting point.

You guys are scaring me, you're running some serious carbide compared to what Curve recommends.....I went with their 4" round per their recommendation...I hope they have enough bite for me.

I have ran 4" for 2 years on my Curves without a problem. Last year Sean @ Curve suggested to go with a 6" round bar. I do not run studs and yes it does handle just fine without extra effort.

i was thinking the bergstrom option maybee or just a 6 in round bar. Where can i check out the bergstroms?

i have no studs either so i dont want to much bite and be fishtailing cuz i cant get the rear to grip as much... Tryin to decide before i go to the milwaukee snow show on friday nite. Looked at the bergstrom site and saw no prices what am i looking at for a set of 4in triple points opposed to a reg 4in round bar.

i've got 9" shaper on right now w studs a liitle to much imo i'm goinf back to 6"

Hey everyone,

People are correct the XS ski is drilled for similar carbides as most of the C&A skis.

We have a carbide selection guide on our website.

For the Nytro's we have had very good luck with the 6" round bar and the 6" commander bar series. Both give great steering feedback but with a slightly less aggressive feel that doesn't have that "edgy" quick little nudges in low snow or icy conditions.

Thanks to all the Curve supports out there and all the responses in helping each other out. That's what makes this industry great! Hope everyone has a great season.

Keep in mind I had a 128" as well. Plus, I would run extra carbide in an attempt to increase the lifespan of the skagg. Since the winters aren't what they used to be, and trips are planned months ahead, I prefer to run a little extra to keep from having to replace mid season. The extra weight over the front does increase wear mile for mile. The other mindset is that you could probably buy two sets of four or six for a little more than the one 9-10".

I've been running Bergstrom 8" Triple Points with my Curves with LE and LOVED the set up. Shimmed per Scott's recommendation. The suspension isn't stock, it's been rebuilt and revalved front and rear. I get great turn in that pushes at the limit on most trails and zero twitching / darting at all throughout the range and in lots of conditions. The Triple Points show almost no wear in about 1,000 miles.
