I spoke with them last week. I explained that all I have done with my sled is made the ride stiffer. I added the big boy spring (5.5) and had it re-Valved by Pioneer. I lowered my front Shocks and added the 12MM bar. They (Pioneer) have had my shock 3 times and it leaks after the first ride. They don’t seem to want to fix the leaking issue and won’t send it back to them again.
Carver told me to dump the Big Spring (5.5) and send the shock to them for their Duel Stack Valving… They also stated that I should NOT have any oil on the shaft after a ride
My question is….
Will this work? I am about 185 with no gear. I ride very aggressively and always seem to find that hidden bump… My back is not the greatest anymore. That is the reason for the GT and not an RTX. I want the nice plush ride and still be able to have the sled compensate for that big bump…
Thanks,

Do a search on this site for Carver and Mono suspensions. There's a thread somewhere about a guy who figured out the ride quality issues with the Mono are due to the stock valve stacks that Yammi uses. Carver was involved in some way, but I don't remember how. It had to do with multi-stack or progressive valving on the Mono's shock.
Apparently the Mono is totally awesome with this setup. FWIW - after talking with Pioneer, I wouldn't buy a bolt from them.

the big boy spring is for guys that are like 275lbs +.
That would be more rough on your back than anything.

Moose, it almost sounds like your shock shaft may be bad. I was told by the guy who used to rebuild my shocks (Brad from Ann Arbor - the fellow who produced the BLT long travel front ends) that any little nick or rust spot on the shock shaft would cause it to leak. Don't know if that is the absolute truth or not or if your shock perhaps has some other problem. Hopefully Carver will inspect everything and let you know if he sees a problem.

There is truth to that. I had all my shocks rebuilt this year and the shaft on the one that i was having the most problems with had a big nick in the shaft. Goodwin performance did the rebuild and put on a new shaft for me as well as recharging the oil and gas. Probably part of the reason the seal went bad and the shock ended up going flat on me.

If you have a Monoshock on your Yammie and want it to ride better, it sounds like Carver's idea on valving the shock is the Cat's butt. Call them..they sound like good people by all accounts.
