Who's paying 500-700 for a ski setup? I run the C&A RZRs on both my Vipers with 6 inch double downs from snow studs and it was right around 400 a sled including the runners.

Some people have a higher budget than others. I understand your point, however the amount a rider spends is a personal issue. Before I found this site I bought all kinds of junk. Now, with the educational reading found on TY my spending is a bit more discretionary as I am sure the same would apply to others.

Cat skis with Snotrackers will put a smile on your face.

My 1st choice is still Cat skis with Snowtrackers, but putting Snowtrackers on your Tuners is a close 2nd choice, and probably the easiest/cheapest way to make a decent handling trail sled out of your Viper. Tuners are a terrible ski, but I put Snowtrackers on my Sidewinder LTX as a temporary fix, thinking I would get some Cat skis later, but after 2,000 miles, I am leaving them where they are. The Snowtrackers actually turned the Tuners into decent trail skis!Highly recommend snowtrackers on tuners.

I have a the XF7000 with the 1.25” ripsaw, 96 gold diggers down the middle and 6” and stock cat skis. I run the 4” staggered carbides from Cat. No darting, great handling, and it’s like I have power steering. Very light steering. They do push a little in the deep powder days. But I run mostly trails and they work great. There maybe a better set up out there but this one does everything well. I do have revalved rear shocks and stringray mods rear spring.

This has me thinking....Are Snowtrackers specific to a particular ski? Could I try them on the Tuners, and if it's not acceptable THEN get the Cat skis and put the Snowtrackers on them????My 1st choice is still Cat skis with Snowtrackers, but putting Snowtrackers on your Tuners is a close 2nd choice, and probably the easiest/cheapest way to make a decent handling trail sled out of your Viper. Unfortunately, they are different for each ski. The Trackers for single keel skis like the Cat skis are in two pieces. The Trackers for Tuners are two pieces for each of the double keels, so 4 pieces. There is a lot of metal under those Tuners with the Trackers on.This has me thinking....Are Snowtrackers specific to a particular ski? I personally would not spend 700$ on a ski set up. But at the time when I was looking for my sled, Cat skis were near the price of a set of C&A's were. So that's why I went the route I did. I do believe the Cat skis are leaps and bounds better than stock though!"Who's paying 500-700 for a ski setup?"

I bought 4" Woodies for my ZR 7000 El Tigre, time will tell if that was a good decision or not.
It was recommended according to the Woodies chart
I should have added that I do not have a studded track
