Hi, so you just take the line off the motor and loop it through the can then back to the motor?do have a part number how much was the can?Update on this setup. Only one weekend of riding and there was over 3oz of oil / water crap in my catch can. Out bound line to intake appears dry the the catch can appears to be doing its job

You can get that same can on ebay for $30 ish .. yes come out of roll over valve into the port in and then take port out back into the port on the turbo intake that the original roll over line went too. If you search you can find them on Amazon click here or click here for ebay
I installed one on a 2020 so the roll over is in a different place but basically does the same thing.

I ended up taking the catch can off and just installing Knapp's loop https://ty4stroke.com/threads/getting-rid-of-the-roll-over-valve.151185/ and blowing it out the bottom. Catch can worked but I came to the conclusion that it seemed to be actually making more condensation. The hot gasses passing through the rollover valve and into the catch can then cold air coming into the sled through the front vent and blasting on the catch can seemed like it was condensing at that point and making water. Mine would be mostly full of water at the end of a short weekend of riding

I am sure thats just moisture coming from the oil tank venting anyway. When these are added to a car, it would be the same thing and doing its job.

I'm just sitting here wondering why some are wanting spend a bunch of money and wanting to catch the water and condensation into a can and give it ride rather than just letting it vent under the running board. Has to add a good 5-10 lbs up front. To each their own I guess, but I sure don't get it myself vs a no maintenance loop of hose out the bottom.

Has to add a good 5-10 lbs up front. To each their own I guess, but I sure don't get it myself vs a no maintenance loop of hose out the bottom.
it’s for those that want to use the stock rollover other then that you are correct. Really There is no reason even on the 2020 or newer with different roll over to just run the line after the roll over valve under the sled. Maybe some of us just over think it and it’s just not necessary other then for Yamaha emissions.

I had two thoughts on this. Maybe they are incorrect. First, I didn’t want oil mix condensation blowing under the running board, getting all over the sled and potentially my boot. The amount of oil mix liquid is a decent amount, and over a few hundred miles it adds up. Second, I didn’t know if the hose ever sucked air instead of just blowing out. If it sucked, I wanted a breather on the end to at least filter what potentially got pulled back in. Of course, my understanding could be wrong.

IMO, the only reason to retain ROV is for those who might or will roll sled over. It will keep engine oil from exiting the oil system. If you're "never" going to roll it over, no reason to keep ROV. I've had the bypass for 2 years now. I never see anything on or below running board, ever. Never see any on skid or my boot. There will never be suction on that line, only slight positive pressure.

Mine was cheap only $24 from Amazon it only weights slightly over a pound so neither weight or cost is an issue. If mine had a drain I probably would have just kept it on, it was kind of a pain to unscrew to empty. I didnt expect it to fill as fast as it did. I was more concerned with crap going through the turbo and into the intake than the rollover freezing. I like to tinker with this stuff , and thought this set up was a little cleaner so I thought I'd try it out and see how it worked which it did but I just felt it may actually be making water because the cold air is blowing directly on it . In an automotive application I dont think these cans are subject to the direct cold air that mine was. Ultimately, just decided to blow it out the bottom keep it simple. If anybody is going to do this I would recommend getting a can with a drain. Also pay attention to the in and out ports on the can mine was mismarked and was backward (china quality)

This ROV is only for when the engine is RUNNING ? Can I roll the sled over with engine off, as in a bad stuck on a hill ? And not worry about oil.

This ROV is only for when the engine is RUNNING ? Can I roll the sled over with engine off, as in a bad stuck on a hill ? And not worry about oil.
When the sled is off the rollover is closed, when the sled is on the case pressure keeps it open. When the sled rolls the oil goes into the line cutting off the pressure and it closes.

No one plans on rolling there sled, mine been upside down twice now if i bypassed the rov it would lost most of the oil since each time took 25min to dig it out so i could flip it back over and would of been walking, it would be nice to have a catch can and keep the original rovIMO, the only reason to retain ROV is for those who might or will roll sled over.
