i want to do some ceramic coating on my manifold and the exaust side of the turbo and the elbow pipe . did somedy try it?? do you think is good, i want to keep the hot air out of the hood, they told me 50% less temperature. thank's thebest.

I swain tech coat my headers, turbo and exhaust downpipe. I haven't run it yet. I does look good however.

I have mine done. The turbo looks brand new after 1500 miles. The header as well. You have to go black on the header and on the turbine housing because of the extreem heat. The compressor side can be done silver.

it was done by custom concepts Who is a preffered Vender on this site.

I don't have a turbo RX, but I do have a twin turbo Mustang.

I chose to use the 1300 high luster silver finish on my headers. Two things will happen over time - The finish will start to dull and look like it has a powder on it, and eventually (like in a year) it may flake off in certain areas. There are higher temp finishes (like 2000 deg) but they are dull in finish and I wanted some *bling* *Bling* under the hood.

As far as the downpipes - Since the turbo uses some exhaust heat as energy, the EGT's coming out of the turbo are 300-350 deg cooler than what you'd see before the turbo. So the downpipes coated with the 1300 deg will last forever and not dull or flake.

Swain does the best job controlling radiant heat from the headers (theirs is like .020" thick compared to .004-.008 of others.) but again, it's a 'dull' finish.

I've used Jet Hot and Airborne in the past when my car was a single turbo, and had the same results with them.

The company that did my twin setup was fairly reasonable and did a decent job. They also offer the 2000 deg finish, but only in the matte finish (gray or black).

Here's a pic...
