After on season on my new Rage the paint was rubbed off on the running board from the heal of my boot. So last season I bought some 3M grip tape at my local hardware store and it worked great. It is sold by the foot and comes in 6" wide. I bought one foot for less than $5 and it coved the worn paint on both sides. After one season it held up great and did not seem to wear any of the grit off. My sled is kind of dirty from working on it so the pad doesnt look great in the picture. It looks just fine in person. is that grip tape silver? Did you think about using black? I have an Apex GT with the black tunnel and I know the black will rub off...I'm thinking of finding the black stuff...or is that black and the flash lit it up?

Snowdog, No it is black grip tape made by 3M. I struggled to get a decent picture of it. I took like 6 pictures playing with the flash and back light control and this was the best one. Reflections from the black tunnel were causing the camera fits. It really looks pretty good in person. My True Value store carried the tape in 3 different widths on the roll and I bought the widest.

A note I forgot to mention was that I made some cardboard templates to play with the shape of the tape. To cut out the tape over the diamond running board grips I placed a piece of regular lined paper on the running board. Then using a no2 pencil on its edge, I rubbed it lightly on the diamond grips to mark their location on the paper. I then transfered this to some thin cardboard so I could play with the shape.

I Cubby's 3D step pads for my Attak and they have a good oem fit and finish. I wish they were longer and covered up and down the entire running board, but they are only like 8 inches long. But all in all I think they were worth the $ and I recommend them. That, and Cubby was a really nice guy to talk to and he mails along a sweet sticker of a chick's silouette that says Cubby's Customs, which went on the MNt. Viper......

I bought YAMS RX1 '05 pads and cut out the holes from round to diamond shape, looks and works great...

X3 on Cubby's step pads. They fit and look great. After an entire season mine still look like new. I also wish that they were longer but they do cover up the area where most of the foot rubbing occurs.
