Should you warm up the sled before checking engine oil?
I ask because I checked my oil level last night after running it for about 10-15 mins and it was right at the full mark. Then today I ran it for a good 20- 25 mins and checked it and now its right to the top of the H mark well above the full line.

yes, per the service manual it says to run it 10-15 minutes then check the level. Also make sure when you are checking the level you are not screwing the dipstick in. I usually just run it until the oil tank is warm to the touch about halfway up where the oil level is

The oil will read low until you let it warm up. This year I changed my oil and checked it without warming it up and when I had little over 3 liters in it it was barely registering it on the dipstick. I even checked under the sled to make sure that it wasnt leaking! I remembered then that I had to let it warm up.

Try and avoid being too thorough and add more oil than needed. If it above the line, it will create a mess by snorting oil in the air box and create a brutal mess.
Then you gotta pull it off and clean the filters and wipe it out.
I try and error on the side of leaving it just less than the line.

Found mine works best when it is just below the full line. Right on the full line and I get a mess. There are several posts about this .
