2013 apex xtx with woodys power up kit clutch work and mbrp pipe
Currently running 144, 1.630 triggers up the middle. All on double backers 4-2 pattern. I’ve got 96 chisels on the way to put in the outside of the track and a few extras for here and there in the track where there are only 2 studs on the bar. Question is: guys studding the out side do you try and stagger the pattern a little bit to maximize scratch lines ? I measured my own pattern for the triggers and got a Ton of scratch lines. Gonna put the chisels in and out for the race your neighbour on sundays that is now on Ice more then snow.
If for ice only chisels on the outside are fine but if you plan any trails I wouldn’t advise it. I run 4 per bar including 2 outside and 2 inside but they are 1.64 Hornets and when they fail, they break right above the nut which is better than a pull through. This year, I added a chisel every other paddle, 1.64, along with double backer that uses 1 hole for the hornet and 1 hole for the chisel. Was on the lake last weekend with it and it hooks hard. I will trail ride it as setup and just touch up the chisels every few rides with a dremel. I think if you already have a Hornet style stud, you’ll be very satisfied on how much traction you’ll get with just those alone, but sprinkling in some chisels really works well.

I’ve had the triggers in since last year. I’m just putting the chisels in the out side to run the drag strip on ice. Looking for more traction just there. Will remove them afterwards. All the big sleds there are chiseled up and triggers can’t dig with em on ice.If for ice only chisels on the outside are fine but if you plan any trails I wouldn’t advise it. Your plan should work then. Didn’t know you would just add them, then take them out. Chisels will work awesome, and yes stagger them but be careful not to get too close to the edges of the window or outside of track with the plates.I’ve had the triggers in since last year.
