I am cleaning my jets for the first time is there a hole all the way through the pilot jet? I have cleaned the ones on the side but need to know if there is one all the way through the pilot. The o rings look to be in rough shape should I go with new ones or just leave them out. It is a flat lander 121 track sled.

I have read the tech pages and it does not really say if there is a hole all the way through the pilot jet. I am thinking there must be.

And, you'll want to replace the O-Rings.

I read a post where LB said they are only needed for mountain sleds this is a flatlanders sled so I took them off and left them off. All of the pilots were plugged so I finally seen the hole through the pilot jet. Put her all back together she fired up right away and it is purring like it should on idle.

Found it check it out if you like.

Leave the o-rings off, I have been riding that way for 3 years with no problems. They are to keep gas down by the main jet when sidehilling.

A few weeks ago I cleaned the carbs on all three of my sleds, there is a hole thru the pilot jet however it is not hollow, there is a cross hair in there. You can see light thru it when clean, but you will not be able to run a wire completely thru it. My wifes sled last year would not idle down when comiing to a stop, since the season was almost over I waited to do anything about it. So when we rode last weekend with the fresh clean carbs it purred like new.

Be careful when cleaning, I just did the ones on my dads RX and one of the needle guides fell out of the bottom of the carb when i took the main out and i didnt even realize it. Sled ran like crap, but luckily i found it laying on the bench runs fine now!

I have never seen or heard of a cross hair in a pilot jet. I have done mine and my Son's carbs so many times, I could almost do it with the lights off....

I used a tool that is used for cleaning torch tips.

What ever you saw in there, should not be there.

Cross hair may not be acurate, there is something in there that is part of the pilot. Possible venturi or ? I could see something in there when held up to the light, when I ran a wire in there it did hit what ever was in there 2/3 of the way in one end. It was like this in all 4 carbs pilots in all three sleds.

Thought were were talking about the other O-rings (i.e. under the plastic cap.) Have not had to get down far enough into my carbs to even eyeball the o-ring under the jet, on this sled.
