Clutch rebuild kit - Royal Distributing

The clutches in my 2010 rs vector ltx are getting noisy (not the standard diesel sound). I decided to pull them apart and rebuild them. I ordered all of the parts, from my Yamaha dealer, for the secondary. I then noticed that Royal had a rebuild kit for the drive clutch. Has anyone ever tried this kit?
 
I bought one from royal for my previous sled a 04 Polaris switchback and cheap Chinese junk.ended up getting a rebuild kit from Fett bros.cant say for sure what the yammy one is like from royal.
 
You get what you pay for. Look at the secondary bushing from Royal. It is split. Not sure how that will stay in the secondary. The buttons are a cheaper plastic and wear out in no time.
Been there done that. I now only use Yamaha parts on my sled. I have no time or extra funds to try to save a few bucks on lower quality parts.
 
Thanks for the advice. Up to this point I have only ever used yamaha OEM. I did try kimpex front suspension bushings, for my pogo stick, many years ago and they were junk.

I agree with others here. The Yamaha secondary cam buttons are expensive, but aftermarkets will not stand up.
Also, in the primary Yamaha offers a shim for behind the spider buttons part #8BW-17654-20-00
My experience has been that keeping the clearance in there as tight as possible takes most of the noise away.
 
Looked at my original secondary Yamaha buttons with over 10k plus I will replace them in off season just because

Adjusting the shims will change the belt run height and mine is currently in the correct spot. Would you still recommend the adjustment?

No, the spider shims have no effect on that. The are a special shaped piece of stainless steel, that fit behind the spider button in the primary. Usually I use one per tower, on the one that does not have the 0-ring on it. They are .003 thousands thick.

Would you happen to have a picture of where these shims go? I researched and can't seem to see where exactly the go

You have to split the clutch in order to install these. Use a pair of pliers to pull the slide button off the pin, then this shim goes on, and put back together.
