You might want to inspect the inside of the instrument panel where it contacts the clutch shield . Mine is cut 2/3 through. I’m thinking of putting a piece of aluminum back foam heat tape to reduce the damage.

I used a channel locks and bent the clutch guard down about 3/4” in down about a 1/4”

Hey OP - Off topic - but no issues encountered with your spare belt tie wrapped there? Thinking about doing the same after seeing your pics, so I can free up some room in my rear bag. Thanks in advance!
I don't believe mine is having that issue, but a quick and clean fix would be a piece of car door edge molding on the guard to blunt it. Split hose cheaper, but not as pretty.
