I am replacing all 4 bearings on my jack shaft and drive shaft. I ordered cheaper bearings from parts unlimited but was told not to use them because they are not exactly right. So I returned them and ordered the yamaha bearings and paid a fortune. But anyway I wan the job done right. Anyone have any tips or tricks to this pricess that might help me along the way?? I am having trouble getting the jack shaft bearing out that is right behind the secondary right now?? am I gunna have to pull that shaft and get at that bearing from the back to get it out??

The jack shaft one is tricky, I must have done something wrong because the How to Lakercr wrote says to give the shaft a couple of yanks and it pops out, I didn't see anywhere that it woudl force the bearing out besides against the C-clip which I didn't want to do. I ended up renting a hammer slide pulley puller to get mine out from Ace Hardware. Others might have better tips. The rest just drop in, tap the old ones out of the chain case and tap the new ones in. Tap only the outer race, when I did it I wrecked one by tapping the inner race, had to get a new one and right diamter pipe to tap it in. Easy job after you do it once.
