Great video and safety idea!
Can certainly see the safety aspect of this since you barely need to use the brake at all in the twisties...
I actually have been giving a little "double tap" to the brake lever just to warn others when I am off the throttle in the woods or on the grades...

I love this idea.
I frequently tap the brakes for the guy behind to know I am slowing down. I usually lead and am the one who knows the trail and the others have no idea where we are and what is coming up next.

I like it. Easier on the brake pads. I tell people you learn to love it.

I love it, all my friends that I let take one of my sleds for a spin always complain that they "fall on their face" I love it, only time I use the break when I'm riding hard is if I over drive my headlight at night too much or when I have people that aren't experienced or I don't trust riding behind me I will tap the break 2 or 3 times so they see the light come on.

I've got 10k on my Attak and love the brakeing.. yes just like manual shifting. Best thing in snow for a truck or car.
I bought another Attak this month with 821 miles on it..love it.

sure the engine braking is great, i like it on trails but for the 20% of riding that i do on trails it sucks in the powder. even with the new apexs with an o-p-o spring to make it coast even more the little bit that it does is terrible for trying to sidehill
For 2014 they are using the Engine Braking Reduction System. I love my '06 RS Venture engine braking. I would like to know if the new Engine Braking Reduction System can be disabled.

the 2011 and newer already have the EBRS. there is still some engine braking but it does coast more then the older Apex. it took me some getting use too since i was coming from an SRX. I just had to tell myself to stay on the throttle while taking corners and to let off only when i really had too,I also use it just like a brake.

Holy resurection of an old thread! Engine braking rules! EBRS sucks! Wish there was a switch to turn it off! My XTX has about the same engine braking as my Warrior with 18,000 miles on it! Still there but when it gets to 18,000 miles it will be ugh more like a two stroke!
Don't want as much braking control it with your thumb! Its a skill that some people rather then learning it just complain about it because its not like the two strokes. Ding Ding Ding its not a two stroke! Thats why we like it! Don't ruin it for everyone else! People riding Yamis since the RX love engine braking. Everyone else just needs to learn a new skill!

Wow a 2007 post looks familiar. Still feel the same way....love the 4 stroke compression braking and do not want it reduced

Thats the way I been looking at it since i got mine...and it works nice! I will never need new brakes.yamadoo said:I was thinking of compression braking on another post and thought I hadn't read anything about this in a long time and wondered if other felt like I do. My thoughts:
Learn to love the compression braking from the start. Some complain they don't like it, but hey its there and if you learn to ease out of the throttle rather than just releasing it, you can very predictibly load the skiis for the turn with out touching the brakes. :ORC
So, I look at it I can either like it and view it as a positive or get bugged by it.
I mean nobody gets mad at their muscle car with a manual transmission for compression braking, if you do it jerky your friends will tell you "learn to drive." :ORC
So love your 4 stroke, I do.
My two cents
