After a long season, all of Daves hard work finally payed off with a world record run of 174.8 mph in 2000'.
This record is in the single engine full bodied sled class and was done In Sudbury ,Ontario ,Canada on this past Sunday.
The sled was powered by a RX-1 based yamaha engine Setup built by Dave At Hurricane Racing.
Again congrats on the record and good luck this summer on the tar!

After a hard season searching for ice time, seeing success with a full body record now in the books, I have been reflecting back to the road that has led up to our recent success. I want to thank my friend Cliff from advanced dyno where I lived with my sled doing alot of research finding the right engine combination. I have also had the good fortune to have met alot of people and made some good friends like Dave at Powderlites,Jim at OSP,Doug Swarts and family,Lise and dan, Burt at 1320 straightliners just to name a few.
With the season at an end for me for this years ice, We've been regenerating as well as planning for the future. We will most definatly be returning to the NBSSR runs next year in the quest for more top speed and we are tossing around the posibility of taking the Yami Doo to the tar for some testing in the quarter mile.
In the meantime, we have a few engines to prepare for are clients so that they can be ready for next years racing season.
Thanks to every one that have supported our quest for speed and we at Hurricane Racing will be at a race laughing and meeting good people some place soon in the future

Alot of people have been inquiring about the people that have been involved with Project Hurricane . I think that it's time to talk about some of the talented people that I've forged a great relationship with during the last couple of years.I'm fortune enough to have met many of the serious players in the power sport industry and I couldn't begin to name everyone in one post, however, I wanted to mention a couple of guy's that I have developed a friendship with. Dave from Powderlites is one of the most honest and nicest guy's in the industry and Burt from 1320 straightliners is one of the most intelligent and fun guy's that I've ever had the pleasure to talk with. Thanks for your friendship.
One of the necessary ingredients in the road to making over 500 horse power has been the help that Jeff Simon from CPR has given me. From the engine block to the cylinder head and many other power related issues, without his help,I would still be looking for a way to keep the engine together over 400 horse power. That is why I'm proud to announce the affiliation between Hurricane Racing and CPR . I will be the Canadian Distributor for Simon's Cpr and will be able to handle all Canadian Yamaha turbo racing issues that will come along.I am looking forward to serving the Canadian people and helping to make the serious players in the powersports industry achieve there goals
FREAK, i believe this is the post your talking about.
YEAH HE IS REALLY SOMETHING.... JEFF SIMON

For the last couple of months I've been very carefull not to say anything that would bash Jeff Simons as thats the rules on TY. The fact is that I broke all the CPR stuff along time ago and have created my own solutions as a result, as my postings have indicated. In the interest of keeping things positive here on TY,lets leave it at that and I'll just keep my comments to myself

First off let me start of by saying that I"m not here to take anyone's side on who makes what or who makes the best parts.
But being that it was our dyno shop that Dave did all his testing at . All I can say was there where a lot of issues coming up with the power levels that we where testing at, and at those levels things where just coming apart.
I am not saying that it was the falt of the parts , they where just not up to making this power at these levels.
An old engine builder once told me if you want to make more power then the next guy you have to "build it to make all the power you can and when it breaks, find out why and fix it so it don't....then repeat step one"
