My brother in law had some bad luck today. He broke a strap in his rs venture, but whats not normal is the fact that a coolant hose is left unprotected under the clutch
.If you look under the clutch you will see a little guard protecting only a "part" of the hose. Wel when the strap broke, it rubbed against the hose, lost all the prestone and had to be towed. Wondering if that happened to anyone else ?

I've heard of this once before. Be sure to run oem Yamaha belts, I have never blown one. But, to play it safe it probably wouldn't be a bad idea to put some sort shield over the hose.

here's the post i left in march Posted: Mon Mar 06, 2006 9:59 am Post subject: rs venture blown belt and ripped coolant hose

was doing a river run around 90 when the top of my belt shredded {around 1400 mi.}and took out the coolant hose going to the left side heat exchanger, luckily I spotted it before the sled overheated. I figure that this summer I will modify the shield over that hose. thanks to YL RACING IN GRAND MERE/ SHAWINAGAN AREA OF QUEBEC I was back on the trail in a short while with a temp. fix. THEY CHECKED CLUTCH ALINGMENT AND ALL WAS OKAY. Any one elese have any problems like that
