mine has about 4000 on the copper donuts.
It started getting loud 2 weeks ago. Ive been trying to eek out the remainder of the season hoping it would not get too bad but with each mile it gets louder and louder.
I brought it home monday and have not torn it apart yet but so far i can see that the pipe connecting to the muffler sheared in half right at a weld joint. Somewhere around the center of the track
I will be taking the entire exhaust off in 2 weeks and will know more.
If donuts are damaged i will post pics

I have over 5k on them, I check them in January and all looked good,
I'm in the same boat as Capt.Storm, my sled got way louder a few weeks ago, and mine also seems further back, if I turn my head while driving I can hear a loud rumble under the trunk area, other apex's in our group are not as loud so something is up,
Going for a 1800K run next week in northern Ontario, I hope it holds up what ever is going on under there,

I am interested to hear as well. I thought this was a one time fix?

might be lucky, but, I never had any more trouble after going with stainless header pipes. 12000 miles on an 06, and 4000 on an 07. Never had trouble with the 08. All with oem gaskets.

you are getting loud because the 2 into one portion of the exhaust where the muffler connects to the y pipes is failing you prolly wont backfire but it will sond like a late model when it finishes breaking.this part of the exhaust is SS and can be welded.

Thor452 that's exactly where I'm hearing it, I have to take a closer look, thanks,

RX-1 exhaust is a little different but mine broke in the same spot at the weld. Started off sounding really nice but got a little louder and then I was starting to worry about getting a ticket. Never backfired or showed any other negative symptoms but maybe that's why the skis were lifting on acceleration! I was just thinking that the snow conditions were that good.

I had a flex exhaust pipe go on my old 07 attack with 8k miles. But the Copper donuts were still good on that sled when I tore it down. I just put a new flex pipe and cooper donut and off she went.

I put in cooper donuts this year and they definitely don't seal well exhaust leaks for sure but I'm not doing anything about them this season

When I did the doughnuts I also did both y pipes with stainless.thor452 said:you are getting loud because the 2 into one portion of the exhaust where the muffler connects to the y pipes is failing you prolly wont backfire but it will sond like a late model when it finishes breaking.this part of the exhaust is SS and can be welded.
It's backfiring again now but it waits a lot longer to do it and it is louder then when the doughnuts were shot.

I've had mine in for about 4000km and after awhile I noticed that they were leaking when the sled was cold but would seal up as it reached operating temperature. I was struggling with an idle issue and the leak was getting worse when cold so I pulled the sled apart to check them. I found one loose clamp and a bit of wear on all four donuts. This is where the REAL advantage of copper is...if these were stock donuts they'd be garbage. So I loosened all my pipe connections and then retightened the clamps to ensure there was no pressure on the donut connection. It's been perfect now for 5-600kms. There's a lot of movement in this exhaust system so I think the clamps should be checked and reset periodically..but the copper donuts are FAR more durable than the stockers..
