Hey Guys,

This will be my first post, but I thought I'd ask and see if anyone has seen this before:
I just picked up a 07 Phazer with a cooked Stator on Kijiji, After getting it home and going over it and making a list of repairs that will need to be done we noticed that the Aluminum Frame in the engine bay (There must be a more technical Name for this "Sub-frame"?) has cracked near where the steering knuckle joins with the chassis, Or above the chain case. It flexes the crack when the steering is moved.

Just wondering if anyone else has seen this happen before? We are planning on welding it up and checking it from time to time for additional cracking. There are also some small cracks near the suspension blocks in the skid that also need to be fixed, I suspect that someone was jumping this thing

Never seen it crack there. I had mine crack just below the chain case from hitting a rock.

It is possible to remove and replace the whole panel but they weren’t cheap. I ended up removing it and having it welded but that looks like it might be tricker to weld and have it last.

I’d look for a good used one to replace it with.

Replacing it probably is the way to go, But at this point I have nothing to loose but my Time if I weld up the crack, I've found a few panel's on Ebay, unfortunately most of them are in the US which makes it a rather expensive part
