Alright guys, I'm doing an oil change, up steering bushings' ulmer a arm bushing, going to powder coat the a arms and front chassis frame while I got it all tore down.

So I've got a few questions

1. Are the metal pieces holding the plastic to the front chassis hex heads or rivets? This is the plastic piece down by the rubber boats near the steering linkage. I need to get the plastic off to have it coated.

2. Any other items I should check on this front while I'm all torn down? I've gotta check the starter yet but I want to try and hit it all while I'm in there

They are rivets, if it is an 07 I would lock-tite the starter bolts while you have it open.

I just got done doing this. There are 5 rivets that hold the plastic on, plus one more you have to drill out of a piece of steel that holds both sides of the plastic shroud together. The boots and the very front plastic are held on by barbed push-in clips.

Excellent....That's what I thought, but good to check prior to ripping into it......

Its an 08 RTX, do those typically have the starter issue? I plan on inspecting it anyways because I've got it all apart.

Thanks for the responses guys!
