We got 6-7 inches friday night and the trails should be well groomed by the time you get here, we went over to sudbury, some trails were not groomed, primarily the trail from tilden lake over to crystal falls, other than that the trails were pretty good considering it was really the first weekend with good snow. The rail bed over to the sportsmans lodge in Sudbury was awesome, conditions up here will only get better. Most of the lakes around here are marked now, you'll find that the main trails within city limits will be rough just because of the amount of traffic, but as you get farther away they get pretty nice. Hope this helps, and there calling for snow this week too.
Deek

Thanks again for the report Deek. I am keeping a close eye on the weather and it should be ok for this weekend.............Cubby

Here is a website for updates.

http://www.ofsc.on.ca/Trails/trails.asp

North Bay - Limited
Trails are improving and brushing has been underway since late last week following the powerful ice storm that hit our system. Trails south of Trout Lake as well as trail north and east of Trout Lake are listed as LIMITED due to possible debris located on the trails. All groomer units have been out and conditions continue to improve. Perhaps by late week we will be at full open status. TOP A102Q to Temiscaming remains CLOSED. Perhaps can get trail open in next week or so. Trout Lake is now staked as well. Conditions are improving. Once we get around all the brush work, we'll be rolling fine. Keep on the alert for rocks, stumps, and trees in your travels NOTICE: DUE TO CONSTRUCTION WORK ON THE PIPELINE ON THE A TRAIL NORTH TO TEMAGMAI BETWEEN MARTIN LAKE RD AND BEAVERLAND RD TRAIL REROUTE WILL BE ON THE WEST SIDE OF VALVE 114

Mattawa - Open
the Mattawa clubs received a lot of Traffic this weekend and the Groomer is out repairing damage to the trails and should have the trails back in good shape by Tuesday night. The Mattawa river Ice Crossing in now Staked. Snowmobilers are reminded to stay on staked trail.

We skipped our annual N.bay trip last weekend due to uncertain conditions and continued north to Cochrane and had an awesome 4 day weekend.

Typically we won't drive to Cochrane unless we are going for a week but the weather this year has forced us to break the rules.

How long a drive is Cockrane from Buffalo. I've ridden up there but we always started much farther south in New Liskard or North Bay or Sportsman's Lodge near Sudbury. Your trip had to be a hike.

I did Cochrane in 1997 (NO SNOW THAT YEAR EVEN IN THE UP)
It was 1075 miles from my door and took a hell of a long time to get there...but the riding was INCREDIBLE to say the least. I wan't to go back when I can get a few guys to go for a week. There is NOTHING like the trails up in Canada. That is the place for a sled like Skydogs...
Straights for as far as the eye can see....

Chris .... are you guys going to need any rooms ??? We have 1 extra ...

JM

Actually I think we are going to have an extra room too.

Cubby, are you still 3 coming. Are you possible looking for someone to share the cost of a room with. We might be a odd number, if so I wouldn't mind. Any of you guys smokers?

Cubby, I also notice someone is coming with the last name Busch. Any chance he is a beer rep for Busch Beer, or the owner? Boy that would be grteat.

Damn, sorry Chris, we gotta last minute 4th guy thats coming with us now.

We are not smokers but we don't descriminate either. It don't bother us at all.

And the Busch thats coming with us is NOT related to the beer guy but we (our group) drinks so much that we wish he was... I bet we drop about $300.00 (Canadian) a day this weekend on drinks alone.

Chris, this weekend is gonna be wild bro, I cant wait.....................Cubby
