well after riding my phazer fx 07, heres what i notice is my biggest issue.
sure you get some ski lift in turns, but the biggest issue i hate is darting.
sometimes it never does it. other snow conditions it was horribly if not downright dangerous.
i pulled the skis, shimmed under the back of the bumper, maybe 3/8 thickness and what a difference it makes.
night and day. cost me 4 bucks in material.
for what 10 years now yamaha's have been notorious for darting. with a fix that simple you think yamaha could just design it right i mean it is 2008 and all now.

I found the steering was heavy like that, and the back end would still dance around off throttle....

I agree this mod does make steering heavier also will cause more push Like you said in some conditions.Flipping the snubbers does same thing to less degree and is a good compromise.Does cure darting well.My back end doesnt dance around once I put freeride track on.

This is what I was thinking as well. If the sled came with a 1 and 1/4 inch ripsaw it just might have that extra depth do bite more snow and keep it stable.

My 08 RTX Phazer does not dart much at all, but my Nytro is so bad its dangerous. I tried turning the rubber around, but no good. Dooly's on it takes away the darting but than it pushes in the corners. I am going to order a set of the new Curve skis for the Nytro and will also try them on the Phazer to see what changes it makes.

i have fixed my darting completly, looked at th snowtracker runners at my dealer,he let me take measurements of the channel over the carbide itself,so easy,i work on a brake press so i just took a pcs of 1/8 steel, bent it with 3/4 lips by 3'' wide 12'' long, drilled first 3 holes from the front , to match the bar, took bar off and put the channel first then the bar,you have to shim the bar so its about 1/4 lower than the channel,it works like a charm and didnt cost me a dime

Strange, my sled does the opposite, I can't get a ski to lift in a corner to save my life.
My front end just pushes, and doesn't want to turn...
I have new C&A's on the way, so that might help. Also, my stock carbides with 1500 miles on them are just about done, so that's not helping much...

Doolys only push if you don't get enough carbide........Vector1 said:My 08 RTX Phazer does not dart much at all, but my Nytro is so bad its dangerous. I tried turning the rubber around, but no good. Or if limiter strap is out.Tighten limiter and push will go away.
