Buy a set of USI x2 triple threats, you will not be dissapointed. Zero darting across the board and they really bite in the corners.

Now if I could just get the skis to turn.....
I'm still getting darting in hardpacked or groomed conditions (the places where one would like to go WOT but can't in fear of moving perpendicular to the intended direction of travel and 90+ mph).
Any of you that are reporting this fixed with stock skis, could you post the position of your limiter strap now that you are flipped and shimmed.
On that note, sled did 86 mph making a fresh track on 5 inches of snow on glare ice (no studs) with my 290 lb (before gear) #*$&@ on it. That was from GPS. It would be nice if I could run it in the hard pack and get some traction.

My neighbour has his stock ski rubbers flipped, but no shims, reported about an 80% improvement over stock. The only time he felt the sled hunt was when he fell in other tracks ahead.

I agree with that assessment. Flipping the rubber was a big improvement, adding the shim made it noticably better but it is still there.
Way back when I pulled my front strap down one set of holes and I'm wondering if this added pressure on the front contributes to the remaining darting?

Thats whay I said 98%...
All sleds will hunt or dart with the right conditions unless you have a keel that will cut its own groove like a C&A...
The stock skis do not hold the snow very well but I all I wanted to do is help you guys get a little better control over your sled.

I don't really understand the difference between hunting and darting to tell the truth.
I know that my current setup is prone to getting in the groove of another sled and not wanting to come out. Not an issue when it agrees with where I want to go but at speed if the lines do not agree and you cross a set of previous ski marks at a very accute angle (maybe <10%) these skis will just decide to take this new direction. Quite fun when you are standing up. What is this phenom called?
Which ever one I have described here, could someone describe what the other is?
I swapped with my friend on an 07 IQ 600 CleanFire on the weekend. If I could get the front end feel and more importantly "behaviour" into the front of my RTX, I would be one happy camper. It tracked straight as a whip over the same territory that mine was twitching all over the place on.

I have pilot skis on my RTX and was ridding this weekend fast on groomed trails and was all over the place . The darting wasnt so bad as to feel out of control but it was bad . I know most sleds will dart under certain conditions but my RTX seems to dart in most . I have the skis shimmed and have played with the suspension including the limiter strap but havent really gotten anywhere. I think I will try some Simmons skies this weekend . I know people complain about the Simmons skies pushing but right know I will take a little pushing over the darting this sled does . This RTX is one of the funnest sleds I have ever ridden but the darting is getting old in a hurry. I also heard good things about the USI tripple threat skis . I had a Rev with the presision skis and that sled tracked better than and sled I have ever ridden so I am thinking the Simmons might help sense they are very close in design . I will let you guys know how they work .
I have Pilot's on mine also, try setting your toe out to 1/4 " - seems to have made a big improvement to mine. I have Simmons on my Phazer Fx - they will dart also, maybe a little less than the pilot's but they're not dart-proof by any means.

Anyone? I would like to know where the limiter strap is now that you have your ski rubber flipped and shimmed.
I'm debating putting mine back in the stock holes to get less pressure and lighter steering but since I'll be a couple of days before I can test it I would like to hear what others think.

I have the rubbers flipped around and shimmed with regular 4 inch runners and front limiter strap pulled down on hole. Should I go back to the stk hole?

I like the feel of the stock straps but it your preference.
Eric, Glad you like the handling, dont worry about that little bulge.
