Hey Brx-1 - I tried a belt on the asphalt, in the beginning of the season. It did work well when new, but went down fast, and so I went back to a stock yami belt. The belt actually felt like a wire brush after 15 or 20 runs down the track, where I can run a stock belt much longer. Sorry, wish I had better news for you.

I'll have to agree with everyone as well. I used to run the Dayco UltraMax belt but as NOS stated, they just seemed to wear faster; got better longevity with the stock Yamis. They also seemed to sit lower in the secondary whereas I would have no problems getting the proper belt adjustment with the Yamaha belt.

Ultimax seemed to wear quickly on this sled for me also, but I have had good luck with the Gates Extreme on my RX1.

Dayco has come out with a "new" belt. I believe the part # is HPX5009

Dayco?
I would'nt run a Dayco Ultramax if I were you!..I ran one on my RX-1 and man it came apart after about 300 miles sounded like a shotgun going off.Pieces of belt all over..And bent my coolant hose cover under the clutches..I won't run another one no way!

Belt Use
I found the Yamaha belt to very reliable....but was amazed at the different widths and lengths (same number of course)…This year I will try one of the Gates Extreme…either the 38X4420 or Mountain belt (38XM4420)….anybody try either yet??? JD

JD, I tried the Gates extreme in my Mach Z and srx. I found that you need to reclutch because being harder belt to reduce slipping. I also found them to be a tad longer than the OEMs. Could be the batches I had, but I also heard from other users.
I tried the ultimax and had no luck as well
