- 2018 Sidewinder LTX-LE 50th
I recently purchased a used 2018 LTX-LE 50th with 9300km and have spent a few weeks going through the sled and finding all kinds of broken parts. I'm looking for recommendations for other things to check and what parts to buy. I've only ridden the sled 80km and already blown a belt which punched a hole in the belly pan. Guess I should have expedited shipping on that guard...
What I've done:
Replaced 8 idler wheels
Replace broken small spring on center shock
Replaced sliders
Bought hurricane alignment tool and confirmed clutch alignment. No shim behind secondary but looks OK.
Drilled/replaced rivets for rear heat exchanger.
Bought 2 belts. An XS and an 8JP
Left to do:
Rollers in secondary have damage so plan to replace these and pins. Recommendations?
Cut out ~5 loose studs
Install belt guard
Replace belly pan due to hole
I've looked at the oil tank and don't see any leaking. Is there a specific place to look? Sight glass looks to have excess sealant around it so not sure it's factory.
I plan to pull apart the brake and look at the driveshaft bearing but with my mileage I don't have a lot of hope. Thinking I will have to buy a new shaft. I hear the tolerances have been fixed.
I haven't been inside the chaincase yet but I will be looking at ths tensioner bolt and confirming tension.
Any other things I should checkered? Sled is stock and I plan to keep it that way. I just want a reliable sled to put miles on.

I would highly recommend putting spring purchase money towards a higher rate single spring. I have one in exact same sled and considered it one of my biggest improvements after the TD tune. Whole sled rides better and steers lighter, if you even touch brake in a loose corner it plants skiis for better turn in. Big improvement in deep snow too. Number of options for the spring have been discussed on here previously

Which spring would you recommend? It sounds like the popular dual rate Arctic Cat spring will not fit with the QS3R shock. I'm 170lbs.

Would this work? Doesn't clearly state if this replaces both springs or just the main spring.

I’d tack weld the tensioner screws replace top gear in chaincase as well as the upper bearing. I’d look at jack shaft bearing and prob replace that. If the shaft is toast replace bearings on both ends.

I personally put in Bill Mohrs spring, some people have found it to be a little too heavy? I weigh 180 and really like it though. X2 on all of SAB1 recommendations, we opened up a low mile winder chaincase and the tensioner pulley screw had backed out and was rubbing, could have grenaded chaincase anytime

Thanks for the recommendations!
I have ordered the Bill Mohr spring after a discussion with him on the phone. May be looking into some clutch improvements next season as well.
Also picked up a set of hi torque rollers to replace the damaged factory set.
Hoping to do a few big rides over the long weekend!
