I've done so much reading on here it makes my eyes hurt lol.

Bought my SW and rode 519 miles in the winter of 17/18 - totally stock.

Before the winter of 18/19 I did the following:
EVO exhaust w/tuning - but stock HP.
911 clutch cover
Thunder clutching secondary rollers
Thunder Big Venom clutch kit
Thunder Holeshot helix 33/35
BOP belt adjuster
Bought Hurricane clutch alignment tool. Need to have 1MM removed from the back of the secondary to make it perfectly aligned but didn't have that done - ran out of time before the snow came.

Winter of 18/19: Blew original belt at 635 miles.

Replaced with OEM Yamaha belt and put 434 miles on that belt (did not blow up)

After another 629 miles on a Gates Carbon - it started to come apart. Now I replaced it with a Ultimax XS and have about 600 miles on that.

Before this winter I plan to:

Add venting to the front of the belly pan for the clutches. Drill vent holes in my belt guard.
Up the Tune to the +37 HP over stock
Have 3 MM machined off the back of my secondary and add 2 MM of shims.

I'm looking for suggestions with my clutching setup. I feel like I can't even ride the sled the way I want to because I'm so afraid of exploding a belt. I would honestly be perfectly happy just replacing the belt every 1,000 miles but I don't want to have to worry about exploding a belt BEFORE 1,000 miles. I don't think that's too much to ask....

Steeper cam# angle! Make it shift... Which spring do you use whit 33-35?

Belt slips a lot in the stock clutching no matter what you do it seems...over time that causes the belt to fail prematurely. I had mine all aligned with Hurricane tool, tuned it, material taken off the back of the secondary, ran a 41/35 helix, and she still blew a belt at practically the exact same mileage as the first one I blew when it was stock..which was almost exactly the same mileage as Scooterwj blew his.

That 8jp belt seems to be hit or miss many times too...

With all that money spent ,get rid of that Yamaha clutch and go aftermarket primary ,Tapp, and STM ,pro4 for the rear, no more belt problems.
