Direct Drive

i thought cb was testing one on an srx last season, the belt instead of the chaincase i mean.

I had seen that CB had a picture of it on there website. Nothing shows up when you go to it. I think the costs would outweigh the benefits of the belt drive. Put that money towards a turbo or supercharger and not worry about the 5-10 something pounds you would save.

He post under the name 2000srx on the ty forum.

I can't believe I forgot about the blade sleds. Too bad they were too expensive. They quit making those a while back unfortunately.

i know that aftermarket conversion kits are out there but are quite pricey. if this setup was done at a factory level the cost would probably not be any higher than the chaincase setup.it would be lighter, cleaner and more efficient. to gain 2-4mph on top end is significant. as for the blade setup, the report by snowtech several years ago was not impressive, with the 800 polaris powered sled comparable to a 700 viper.
